does sway bars help with anything in terms of dig races or roll races?
no, they are there to mitigate body roll when taking a curve or corner at high speed

will they help with weight reduction?
there are already front and rear sway bars on the car (technically they are anti-sway bars), so if the replacements are smaller (and therefore lighter) than the originals, that would mean some weight reduction would be achieved.

But a smaller/lighter sway bar will be less effective at reducing body roll than a larger/heavier one. So going lighter/smaller to save weight would only make sense if the car were rarely driven hard on twisty or curvy roads
