T/A hood!!!

here's mine, it is non functional but I installed a SRT chin spoiler and routed ram air ducting from the brake ducts. I have 20k miles now and no blemishes yet. I did have it painted matt black instead of the silver. Looks a lot better.

No offense to anyone out there but GreatAmerican has the best one! Period! He'll have to chime in one the pros/cons.

I agree the G5 T/A hood looks the best of the offerings from Autoform, Cervini, Mopar, and G5. It's proportions are the best. I wish they'd release an airbox to go with the hood.
I was looking to buy the mopar hood, cause it is factory stamped & fits good, but I could not get passed the bolt on scoop,+ on a 70 T/A it was fiberglass!

Just made my MOPAR scoop functional yesterday.
2hoods

This was what I had on from the dealer. I switched it out for a traditional. It just wasn't for me. I may switch back someday.

Ha bluert, G5 does offer an airbox for there hood. G5 Challenger carbon T/A Hood
That hood does not have the airbox, only the front screens. :icon_evil: Their site shows, under the add for the fiberglass T/A hood, that an airbox is supposed to be available as an extra purchse accessory, in 2/11, but they don't show it listed yet. I sent them an email asking about it, but they haven't responded. If and when they do add the airbox, I'm all over it. It is definately the best looking T/A hood so far, but useless without the airbox to a CAI.

Does G5 include hood struts or can u use the Mopar ones? Do they make provision for windshield washers? Hood looks awesome!! :werd:
If you get an oem ta hood you have to buy the airbox under the hood seperately and that costs around 500.00 (speedlogix carries them) plus you have to also install a cai if you don't already have one...so add another 300 or so. all to make a hood functional to providing a little cool air to the filter for neglible hp increases. But hey, if you're like me, if you have a scoop it better be damned functional or remove it.

I made the hood cutouts before i even installed my oem TA hood, and just this week i ordered a CAI so that when i DO route air it will go to the right location, since the factory airbox is sealed on the top from letting air from the mopar10 airbox in.

Oh, i think we established that the OEM TA hood scoop that came off at speed had the felt/rubber gasket installed wrong, which provides a better seal to the hood. I've had mine to 130 and it hasn't come off yet.

Cervinis makes a hood and cai that work together, they really need to make a kit thats all inclusive from dodge accessories, and price it a bit more reasonable...over 2000 in parts for a hood is a bit steep. hood+scoop was 1250, + 500 for airbox, + 300 for cai...the mopar 10 didn't cost 3k more than my classic did, too bad it only came in black.

Hey bluert, G5 wants you to use an R/T hood prop rod , I did not use one the hood struts hold it up fine,& you can get the washer set up from G5 if you want.
