Good stuff, rtking. Please stop by and say hello. Karl (lowwlife) and J (Speedy) are graciously flying in to help me out. Should be a great time. Expecting weather in the mid to upper 80's for the high. The wind will be the wild card. It's right on the coast.

I was thinking of it, but when I saw it is pretty much across the state from me...

Word to the wise for new people to TX...it takes for freakin' ever to traverse this place. The route is WAY longer than it looks on a map, and the posted limits are not that high 'round here. You can try pushing the speed, but I guarantee...they will bust yo azz!

I was actually going AT the speed limit on I40, and they were still hovering around me like vultures, hoping for a quick kill, as soon as they saw a "Challenger" come through. On a "construction zone" stretch, I noted 2 troopers see me going the other way, and then immediately whip around the median to begin pacing me. 2 troopers within 3 mins of travel! That was only half their crew, as well, as I passed by 2 more troopers parked on my side of the hwy with some other unmarked car. It was a weird and stressful stretch of hwy, let me tell you.

I'll tell you one thing about TX, the hwy patrol are absolute psychos around here. It goes way beyond just enforcing limits. ...and judging from the 2 close calls with other evidently suicidal motorists since I've been on a TX hwy while I was doing exactly the speed limit, I can only say they are doing a poor, poor job of truly cleaning up the genuinely dangerous drivers on these roads. It's pathetic and disheartening. I don't trust them with my safety in the slightest.
