Just wanted to add that the update worked great. More control over bass, much higher volume, and clear sound overall. Get it done, you will be glad you did.

Someone else mentioned this in another thread. Looks like it's time for all HK owners to head in and get this done.

So, I brought my 2015 Challenger RT into the shop for them to have a look at my speakers as one sounded like it has been blown. They did the firmware update, and everything sounds much clearer ... unfortunately it also sounds like it's coming out of the front far more than the back. Also, I believed there was a speaker in the pillar behind the drivers seat (where it looks like a one inch tweeter is) and I remember feeling that spot and feeling souund coming out of it ... no sound comes out of it anymore ... I brought it back in and was told there is no speaker there. I find this hard to believe, as I distinctly remember feeling there and feeling the sound come out of it. They are insistent that they took it apart and found no speaker there ... which makes no sense to me. Can anyone confirm there is a tweeter in the pillars behind the front seats? And is there any documentation as to where the "18" speakers are?

There's actually a schematic on the Harmon Kardon website -
Harman Kardon Automotive Dodge Challenger

All the mid-range speakers are actually two-ways, with attached tweeters sitting above the cone. If you're sitting in the car, you're only going to "see" 9 speakers - 3 in the dash, 2 on the doors (woofers, in this case), 2 in the sides below the pillars (by the rear seat arm rests), and 2 in the rear deck. As I'm sure you know, the subs are in the spare-tire wheel well.

Having said that, I count 18 speakers - where is #19 ?

From the HK site - "Together with Dodge engineers, Harman Kardon specialists developed a unique 19-speaker system that transforms the interior of the Dodge Challenger into a concert hall on wheels. The 7.4 speaker architecture with 18 speakers in 10 locations together with the 825watts equivalent high voltage, 11-channel Class-D Amplifier with Harman Kardon’s Logic 7® surround sound technology create an audio experience that is second to none."

Huh?

I just had this Flash performed this morning, here are my thoughts.

The bass now is more evenly spread throughout the cabin
The subs deliver bass that is more focused and tight
Zero Distortion or clipping cranked at 38 with quality MP3s
The Surround sound is more defined and dynamic
The audio menu looks different to me, one thing for sure is the eq is now very responsive and accurate

Before this I was happy with the system, when using good mp3 files the system was good. IMO the system now is excellent and well worth the cost. It performs as advertised finally. Get this done!

I also had the flash done , and the sound is all coming from the front, hardly any sound from the rear. did you bring yours back and if so did they correct it?

there is an adjustment in the radio to change the front to rear sound and balance and left to right-try adjusting that-it worked for me-brought out the bass from the rear and balanced out the sound

Better late than never, I got this update done over the weekend, and it really is as good as advertised! The door speakers sound especially louder, the entire car is "fuller", and I also noticed that the speed-sensitive volume adjustment is finally working (it never really seemed to do anything, previously).
