last month i got an 85mm throttle boby from bbk. the car runs great but i kept getting a check engine light. the code is p0441. at first i didnt think that they could be related but as soon as i put the stock throttle body on the codes stopped coming up. its not the gas cap or lines i checked them both. Has anyone else had this problem? anyone no a fix?

thanks

I was thinking about getting one of the bbk throttle body, just curious if you saw any gains with this mod?

That's a very odd code to have for a TB change. That code is: EVAP purge system performance. By chance does that throttle body impact/hit/pitch the vacuum line on the drivers side of the manifold inlet. That hard plastic line is what goes to the canister.

Also the BBK's are a converted chevy TB. Not exactly Mopar friendly and had major issues when they were first introduced. I know they made some changes to the electronics to play nice with our PCM. But I highly suggest you go with a product that designed to work with our cars. Contact Modern Muscle Performance Group, they have exactly what you need.

ok i think i got it figured out. the bbk throttle body has a small hole that the stock one does not have, it is right in the middle of the o-ring which is causing a leak right next to the evap hose. if this does not fix my problem i will Contact Modern Muscle Performance.
thanks for your help.

i have the same issue but i have a 2011 dodge challenger rt with a k&n cai and bbk 85 mm and diablo dcx i know it has to do with the bbk and possibly the dcx also did anyone actually correct this problem and still have the bbk on their vehicle my car runs fine but i talked to bbk and diablo. bbk says return the car back to stock throttle body and stock tune and drive it around to make sure the code doesnt come back then add the bbk on and drive it for awhile to c if it stays off then add the tune if someone knows an easier way please let me know i just dont want to spend 2 weeks driving this around and the light comes back on it took a week to come on after i installed the throttle body so i know it wont pop up right awqy

Sorry to hear you are having problems. I too encountered the same thrown code for the two years it was installed on my R/T. (Prior to that no issues from any of the other mods or custom tune.) In my case, climate seemed to trigger the code - mostly prevalent when outside temps dipped to 50 degrees or so ( as in spring or fall) and rarely an issue in summer. I even tried substituting the longer IAT sensor to no avail. I finally ended up permanently removing it last fall after the installation of the ProCharger. It just didn't play nicely with the SC, causing rpms to swing wildly while idling (even after warm up). Sadly, as others have said, it's buyer beware (I.e not a well engineered product.) On the bright side, it makes for an interesting paper weight and conversation piece sitting on the desk in my office. Good luck.

Just another data point. I got the 85mm BBK and put it on my 2009 SRT. Never had a problem. Ran great and there were some gains at high RPM. If I had to do it again on my 2015, I'd definitely go with a "more Mopar" design though.

Butterfly Change-Maxbore

One fellow on this forum said that the size of the butterfly allows too much air to pass when closed. He sent it to a place called Maxbore. Had a new butterfly installed and the code went away. I spoke with the guy at Maxbore, he said that BBK is not the only TB with this problem. I think he quoted $120. I too have this issue. I intend to ship mine off for this modification.

Here you go:
AIR INTAKE TEMP SENSOR - MOPAR (5149279AB or5149279AC)

Good luck. As I noted in a previous post, it didn't resolve my code problem.
