Got a ticket last week in the SRT8. 54 mph in a 40 actually going 42. Leaving work was pulled over within 30 sec. Officer asked why was I leading the pack and catching up to other group of cars. I said I work on the side entrance if the street and had to pull out between cars thus I was in the middle. Coworker asked the next day if I got a ticket I said yes, and they replied I was going 55 in 40 and they pulled YOU over. I will be going to court next week.

Then got another ticket in a speed trap in Salado TX. On a 10 hr trip at 1:30 am Bought the Escort Passport 9500ix the next day. I need something to give me an edge like these police depts. I'm pissed
2nd ticket in the family car Honda Odyssey in 60 mph construction zone that was a 1/4 mile long. I get pulled over in front of 75 mph sign and I said look and he said no that current limit. I got a 74 in 60.

could try keeping your speed at 5mph over...be a lot cheaper in the end...or like another poster said recently..."live by the sword"

Two tickets did it for me too, now I own a Bel Pro 300. I'm usually hovering 5-10mph over, nothing too high. You never know when the LEOs will hit you.

If you don't want tickets don't speed. Cracks me up, "but officer I was only going 3mph over the posted limit, why did you stop me I was not doing anything wrong."

Its WAZE app... not WAVE. It lets users who have the app, "Flag" patrol cars, accidents...etc uphead on the roadways. Pretty neat features like GPS, Traffic Reports, Road Hazards...etc. and it's free for smartphones.

I try and stay 5 mph over speed limit also. Of course I like acceleration and I usually get there real quick.

As far as going to court with the defense of you were not the fastest car in the group, that won't work. You will have to PROVE you were not going over the posted limit. Also, asking when the radar or laser device was calibrated usually wont work either as now the new ones recalibrate themselves on each trigger pull. I serve as a volunteer in Municipal Court as Court Security and see these excuses all of the time. Ask for deferred adjudication and pay a fine is what I would do (I am not offering legal advice). Good Luck !

Normally, you would just cut a deal with the prosecutor to plead guilty to a non-moving violation. That way you avoid points and an insurance premium surcharge.

Unfortunately, with two recent tickets, that might not work.

Good luck.

I agree, if you can take the time off work to go to Court, if in a small city like mine that would be best. In a large City it could be time consuming for sure. Either way, don't just go to the window and pay the citation. In a large city usually there are attorneys that handle citations for about $40 and manage to keep them off your record. Of course you will still be paying the attorney and hopefully a reduced fine for the citation.
I wonder if the citations are within the same jurisdiction.

That sucks man. Bad luck all around. As a kid, my family use to take road trips to my grandparents down IH-35 all the time. Even back in the 1980's, Salado TX was known as a huge speed trap. I guess nothing has changed.

My unsolicited, not a lawyer advice and not to be construed as a legal consultation - try and take deferred adjudication on one, and take defensive driving on the other. Should keep both off of your driving history and not ding you on your insurance premium.

That is BS. I'm sorry they picked on you and your SRT. If you are telling the truth, go to court and defend yourself. I drive 8-9 over the limit all the time and have never been pulled over, even when passing officers driving the opposite direction running radar.

My DL says "safe driver" on it and I get on my RT routinely!

Is your SRT a high impact color w/stripes?

If you live in a state where you can request a "trial by written declaration", I would seriously consider it. It's worked great for me in the past....case dismissed like clockwork!! Google it.

Got everyone here beat!!:grinbiginvert:
Stationed in Ft. Carson, Colo, in 1980. Owned a 76 T/A 455. Was temporarily assigned to an NCO carreer advancement school there. After the 2nd week, depending on academic scores some of us were allowed to stay in their normal barracks or homes. I lived off post in Colo. Springs and had a penchent for partying. Had to be seated in class at 8am. Everyday in the first week of being allowed to go home (third week) I was late!!! 5 tickets by post MP's in 5 days!!! All of them were for speeding between 4 miles to 7 miles over the limit on post (30mph). You'd have thought I'd learn my lesson after the first one or two. I was a grunt back then. Karma is a biotch.........now I'm a cop!! True story. To this day, I loath MP's. :grim: $25.00 a shot back then. Payed them all-no contest. Seek responsibility and take responsibility for your actions.

To the OP, life gets better!!:beer_yum:
