Suppose I was going to order a car in March 2018 and there was a $1,500 customer rebate that expires at the end of March. It was anticipated the car would be delivered in June 2018. Would the $1500 be relevant during negotiating or would the unknown June rebate amount be relevant?

Thoughts about how to think through.

Thanks,

BAT

Generally incentives in effect when you take delivery. Possible to get incentives when your car has a VIN# if your dealer is helpful. Generally mid year the incentives remain the same or increase, but with new model year production starting earlier and earlier, who can say anymore. You should not be able to lock in incentives when you order until VIN# is created. A Guy

The incentives get applied at retail delivery which in your case would likely still be in place and possibly go up if anything. I don’t think you should worry.
