I am installing a Mopar (sorta) Short Throw shifter handle in my 6spd and havent got a clue how the trim ring and boot come off. Does anyone that has done this have any tips or info so I dont kill the console, boot or trim ring? I am sure the part comes with instructions but experience is the best teacher. Thanks in advance.

Just look for speedy's garage and look up the Hurst shifter install. They show you how to get it off.
Use a dash pry tool (if you don't have one use a small jewelers screw driver. But be careful as to not damage your console) on the corners of the silver trim and it pops right off.
For the shifter and boot will come off in one peice, you'll just that to un bolt the screws and slide it out.
Then with a flat head screw driver just the plastic peice holding the boot to the shifter. Now with the hurst it came with a rubber grommet and a zip tie. I am unsure how the short throw will hold the boot back in place.
