My 2018 Hellcat is manifesting something similar. NAV has car anywhere from 40 to 20 miles off position.

uConnect web site says car has up to date radio software.

Took car to dealer. Tech confirmed NAV goofy. I'm sure he tried various resets/etc to no avail. Chrysler was contacted. Said there was a radio software update available and the tech downloaded it. Takes an hour. 10GB of code/data (probably mostly data, NAV map data). The update was applied. Did not help. Chrysler was contacted again. And apparently there is yet a 2nd update date available.

A week later had the car in and this 2nd update was applied. Same result as first update. NAV unit still not working right.

Tech removed bezel (?) and from behind this was able to get the radio number to know which replacement radio to order. New radio supposedly ordered. This was on June 16. Still no word from dealer that radio is in.
That’s the experience that I am anticipating. Are they getting you a new one or refurbished?

The service advisor I recall said a "new radio" would be ordered. "Replacement radio" was also used at some point but I didn't hear "refurbished" used any.

New is the way to go but that’s not always the first approach. What state are you in or what dealership are you using? I’m in NJ but bought my car in NC, so I don’t have any experience with dealerships around me. Since I didn’t buy locally and do my own service, I’ll probably be treated as a nobody.

Does it actually say 18.48.1? I have looked at several 2018 GT vins from car guru and the uconnect site just says they are up to date, no firmware version given.

As far as I know, firmware 18.45.1 (could not find anything on 18.48.1) is for 2015-2016 models.

If the car is still under warranty I would just take it to the dealership and have them fix it.
I will confirm. I took a notepad out and I swear that's the information it gave.

Sorry I did not see this and respond sooner.

I'm in CA and using Tracy Dodge in Tracy CA. I did not buy this Hellcat there. I bought a Scat Pack there but traded it in after just 2 months when I decided I wanted a Hellcat.

I have never had the Hellcat at the selling dealer for anything. All the servicing has been done at the Tracy Dodge dealer, or the Pleasanton Dodge dealer, or the San Leandro Dodge dealer.

So far the service has been pretty good. I'm still not over the SA at one dealer who told me when I asked he have a tech remove the splitter protectors they are supposed to be left on. I was in fact at this dealer the other day to have the engine oil changed prior to my leaving on a long road trip but I avoided the SA who told me that and used another one. I did not bother to ask the protectors be removed though. I just wanted the oil changed.

I got the same problem with navigation ,it show me in the middle of the lake 30 miles way, I contact uconnect service center and they told me to pick a parking lot put the address of the parking lot when you get there drive 5 time clockwise,
Problem one GPS can't read the address, it says no road found.
I have no connection with satellite.
#2 dealer option $160 diagnos
+ $200-400 extra to fix the problem if can be fixed, I'm 37000 miles no warranty on radio.
With so many complaints has to be a recall of those lemon uconnect radios.

Took mine to the dealership, kid said right away, tons of issues with the radios. Hooked up an external satelite gps antenna and it still did nothing. Flashed an update and said upfront it would zap the radio, I have no climate no backup camera no radio no nav etc. Ordered a replacement radio, they have had my car nearly two weeks now. Truck was supposed to deliver the radio to the dealership last Friday, still nothing. Truck went to Indiana instead. Frustrating and the service guy is doing what he can, no parts no fix.

When it was decided a new radio was needed for my Hellcat the tech did what he needed to do to determine which replacement radio to order then I was given the car back. No way I would have left it. I was supposed to be called when the new radio arrived.

Some week or so afterwards I was at the dealer parts counter for something and asked about the radio. Was told it had come in. Asked why I was not called. Seems the service department receptionist had left and had not been replaced.

Booked an appointment and the new radio was installed. So far the radio and the NAV appear to work just fine.

The NAV map data has some errors. For a destination in Fayetteville the NAV system wanted me to take exit 66 when there is no exit 66. Just exits 67A and 67B.

Oh a heads up. Ask to check the radio LCD's position before the tech secures it. In the case of my Hellcat, from the driver's seat the LCD is a bit low and this clips/obstructs -- but not by much -- the icons/text at the bottom of the display. The LCD is centered but it probably should be biased towards the top of the LCD opening just a bit.
