This happened today, started car, no backup camera, straight to solid blue display. SiriusXM stayed playing on station it was on when shut off. Steering wheel buttons had not control over it. After about 20-30 seconds it rebooted and was fine.

The screen in either my Scat Pack or my Hellcat -- I can't recall now and the picture is not handy for me to look at when I took it to know which car it would have been -- showed vertical blue bars at least once. I don't recall what if any controls worked. Turned off the engine and waited a bit and upon restart the screen was fine.

The Scat Pack I know received one over the air update to the uConnect software and my Hellcat might have also received one. The Scat Pack is gone but the Hellcat LCD has been fine.

My Hellcat was logging "stealth" low battery voltage codes; this came to light when I had the car in for a +paddle shifter problem. The possibility exits things like my car's +paddle shifter problem and your car's blue screen and my car's blue bars symptoms might be due to low power.

This low voltage odd behavior has not been limited to my Dodge cars.

With my Porsche Turbo once in a great while after I started the engine the radio was on, all the controls were lit up normally, but the thing emitted no audio. Or it would emit audio but had switched to FM mode -- which I never used -- and to some random station.

What I observed is upon starting the car's battery voltage can dip quite a bit and this might be sufficient to cause some electrical systems in the car to fail to initialize properly, or suffer a low voltage condition that causes the system to not function properly.

My Turbo experienced a premature battery failure but for some time before the battery actually got so bad it would not crank the engine the battery was apparently going down hill. Then long after the battery had been replaced the alternator was not putting out enough power to properly replenish the battery. I had to have the alternator replaced.

Did this happen when you put it in reverse? If so, do you recall if you got the "Check Entire Surroundings" at the top before it was just blue screen?

Blue screen and reboot was a very common issue. Have you checked to see if you have the current SW version?

If it happens again, press and hold the upper right corner for 10 seconds or so, it should reboot in 5 seconds or so. Jeeps and Trucks have had this issue where there was a connection issue at the tailgate. Obviously different, but harness is also suspected here. Some also report reseating all fuses/relays in the PDC apparently correcting this.

I think it did pop up when I put it in reverse, I was bringing take out food home, so hopped in, started it, and went to back out and noticed it. You can see there was only blue screen in my picture, I didn't notice anything else. As I was pulling out I tried holding my finger on the top right and counted to 12 or so, nothing seemed to happen, and as I left I let go of the screen so I could drive in traffic...
Then it rebooted, probably from the delay after touching, who knows. I have done searching and seems like it is backup camera related. I'll double check my software versions today for kicks.

Thanks, I'll check what the car says, but that site says I'm good to go (or stuck since it isn't the fix either I guess)

Never had any luck rebooting a hung uConnect/frozen LCD screen by any method.
