I could care less what somebody does to their car. Only problem I have is when somebody does a "clone" SRT and it gets its ass handed to it by a V6 Mustang. Kinda puts a bad rap on Dodge when that guy in the Mustang says he beat an SRT8 Challenger when it was really an SE. :)

This is exactly what I wanted to avoid...DEBATE. You claim calling an upbadger a poser or liar is "middle school" so tell me....what is the label of the persons that try to personify something they do not own into something that is deemed to be worth more in money and performance. here's another analogy.... Do you think you or any other person could ride a Honda motorcycle with a Harley emblem in place of the Honda emblem into Sturgis without getting the s**t kicked out of you? Probably not because most people do not agree with displaying something that is not true. This poll is for the masses of this forum to voice their opinion on whether they agree with upbadging or not. The fact that you live in the USA allows you to voice your opinion so take the poll if you choose and do your debating on the other thread.

Doesn't matter. They're all Harley owners regardless of what they do for a living. Irrelavent. If you've ever been there or owned a HD, you'd known that before you posted.

There you can't hide what motor your running therefore you can not parade around claiming your Sportster is a Dyna.

Upbadging is like a woman wearing a padded uplift bra.
No one will know what really lies there until it matters.

hahaha yes... they dont call it a wounder bra for nothing... when it comes off you WOUNDER where they went.!

most who want to up badge are just cheap.. and i bet buy cheap parts too... i just talk tash to them when i see them.. not much they can do but go sit in their SE's and cry..:bigthumb: anyone that falls for it being a bigger car is just as much of a fool as they are. we can spot a fake a mile away.. you will never have my 6.1 sound!!!

Lotsa people hate to asnwer a question directly.

How about this..

Is it ok to lie about something you dont have, or not? Pretty simple really. Be the black sheep, be the poser, upbadge all day long, Its your car. Unfortunatly, once you are exposed, you are now a joke.

Upbadging results in "R/Ts" and "SRTs" out on the street that run much slower than they should. That damages their reputation, which reduces desireability, which lowers resale value. Now these clowns are taking money out of our pockets. That's why I'm against upbadging, and why it's not analagous to something like green hair or body piercings.

Yep, thats what I pretty much posted before. Having V6 Mustangs kill "SRT8" Challengers are not good.

agree and that's why I badged my SE with 3.5L and SE badges.
Mostly because I'm proud of my car as it is
Upbadging doesn't make ALL challengers look lame in a race...just HEMI's

Upbadging is Lame. Only a squid would attemp this. Pretty much every real car guy/gal will tell you this.
There is a guy on my block that put AMG badges on his Mercedes. He speeds up and down the block like a ahole with his ugly ass oversized chrome rims. Some people just enjoy living like a Terd.

I am not a fan of actually "upbadging", but turning something into a "clone" I have less problems with. I think a clone is alright, as long as you "debadge" the car. :)

I'd put those Sport Muscle SRT clone wheels on, a matte black painted (or just regular color painted) spoiler on, swap on the SRT8 front lip spoiler and fender extenders, put the functional scoops in the hood, dual exhaust, chrome fuel door.. all on an SE. but I'd take even the "Challenger" badge off the grill. I'd keep the hood stripes off, or maybe put matte black stripes on.

Actually putting SRT8 emblems on the car? No, I personally would not do that. I'm not a witch hunt kind of person either.

I must admit, I find it kind of amusing that the some in the SRT8 crowd would be worried about their street cred. Do you people just sit in your car, in traffic, and act all paranoid that the guy in the oncoming lane thinks your car is slow becuase he may have beaten an SE at some point or other? Some SRT8 owners must have high blood pressure.

Someone said it right earlier in the thread. An SE will never ever have that awesome 6.1L sound. If God drove a car, it would sound like a 6.1L.

Oh and if Darth Vader drove a car, it would STILL be the Buick GNX. I just thought I drop that in there.

*nods* that does seem to be a reoccuring theme with upbadged or never-existed-upbadging (Type R or S anything that never had that trim level). Most of them are complete dunderheads when driving.

If you didn't lump entire groups into one statement you would make more sence. It's like saying all SE guys are lame or something.
