Yes, I have always used a very soft bristle toothbrush. Walmart has them for under a buck. If not, you can also use a small auto detailing brush. They both work fine.

Just be sure the bristles are very soft.

....I usually use Q-Tips or one of my boars hair brushes with a quick detailer, APC or a paint safe solvent (i.e. bug and tar remover, isopropyl alcohol, odorless mineral spirits, etc.). I always like to try a chemical solution to these sorts of problems (with light agitation) first before getting more aggressive. The only problem with using some solvents in this case is they may react to the adhesive on the decals. I would first try a quick detailer with the corner of a towel and move on from there.

As huggytree pointed out though, simply using a product that doesn't stain trim or leave difficult residue behind can make this a moot point in the future. Frankly, unless I'm doing someone else's car, I rarely run into this issue.

Try an instant detailer first -- an APC or solvent will strip the wax protection.

If an instant detailer doesn't work, you can also try applying more wax, but being careful to remove it thoroughly before it dries too hard.

Next time try a synthetic wax to reduce chalking.

I just did this last night. use what ever you use to remove the wax and press hard going up and down the line where the stripe is and the wax build up is. takes a little elbow grease but it comes off. just a little extra rubbing does it.

I agree. In the future, I recommend that you use Meguires NXT Wax 2.0 2-3 times a year and Meguires Detail Spray weekly (using a microfiber towel). Your Challenger will have a mirror finish. Look at my SRT.

What do you do about the stripes? How are you caring for them so they don't get all "shiny"?

I want to do my first major clean this coming weekend and am leery about it as I feel out of my depth with the stripes, I also have the SRT8 with the same stripes as you have.

Are you using a specific product to care for them? Do you wax over them or use a detailer spray or just leave them alone?

Also, I am assuming but not sure that you should not claybar the stripes?

Sorry for the questions but I don't want to mess it up and there are way too many options out there :scratchhead:
