Took, The Kraken, out for a spin today. Absolutely georgous here in TN. Plugged in my USB stick loaded with 70's tunes, cuz I am that old, and just drove around wasting gas like a big V8 can. That's all I had to say, just wanted to share. Wish all of ya were here to enjoy it with me!!

I have put more than 1000 miles on my Challenger doing the same thing. :)

...and, another 500 or 600 with a late-70's/early-80's stack of tunes. ;)

I don't care if the kids these days don't know who Mott The Hoople is, they're gonna hear it if they're next to me in traffic!

Upstate NY transplant here (Oswego area). You're dead on about the countryside being similar here.

Went to school in Rochester then moved to the south for work. We definitely like TN though. Especially Nashville.

We were in Gatlinburg in June for Mopars in the Mountains and did the Tail of the Dragon. Love TENN and in a Challenger it is even better.

I'm a western NY transplant. The country side is the same as where I came from, love it here to.
Good to see some fellow NY'ers... I had a lot of fun there last year and have been hoping to go back again next year. Loved the road thru the national forest between Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg.. Spent the good part of a day at the American Eagle Foundation's off site facility. Met a whole bunch of wonderful people, including the founder Al Cecere and was within 2 feet of the eagle Challenger. (This is the eagle that flies free in stadiums during the national anthem). Had a few great meals at the Old Mill too! I've never been to Nashville but... maybe the next trip. If you NY'ers ever get back up this way, give a shout and we can arrange some fun here.

The small hills here in NY can't hold a candle to the Smokey Mountains.

These things need to be advertised more. I would have driven down again for Mopar's in the Mountains and especially the Tail of the Dragon! Do you know what the dates are for 2015? Might be nice if we can get a group to all meet there.

Is this an annual event...if so do you have any dates for next year. I was in Pigeon Forge for the Shades of the Past show the last two years and plan to be there next year also. Driving my Shaker up and down the main drag at night is priceless. I will also be in Townsend Tn in May 16-23 if you know of any events going on or can direct me to a website it would be most appreciated.

I believe that Mopars in the Mts. will not be held in 2015, next event will be 2016. Unless they have changed their minds. That's the last I heard. It's a shame as that event is kick-*ss!
That is correct... No 2015 date. Two of the organizers kids are graduating HS next year. They said from now on it will be every other year.

I'll be in Townsend, Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg area from May 16 thru 23. plan to drive the Tail of the Dragon at least once. May is one of the best times to be in the mountains. The humidity is low, the crowds haven't arrived yet and everything is fresh. Should be a good time.
