Which stereo setup do you have? Base, Alpine, or H/K? I'm sure my base speakers don't have those red cables because I did remove my speakers when I'm trying to find a rattling previously.

My guess it's a Hi to Lo signal converter since those speakers don't appear to be stock either. It taps the full range signal that goes to the rear speakers to provide RCA outputs so you can feed the signal to a aftermarket amplifier. The only way to confirm is to follow the wires and see what's on the other end. Let us know what you find out!

I agree, those aren't factory wires,as well as the speaker connectors.

The factory would never tap into wires. Did you buy this car used?
