I plan on getting headers eventually and air intake mods all the way to the intake manifold. I believe the stock exhaust on a 2012 Challenger srt8 is 2.75.....sooooo should I go to 3 or 3.5 inch cat-back exhaust? I want a louder start up and more aggressive sound when I rev but at the same time I don't wanna set off car alarms when im casually driving by parked cars. I had an axel-back on an Integra Gsr I owned when I was a younger and on long trips the exhaust sound annoyed me after a few hours of driving. What do you guys think is my best option? I have mostly been looking at magnaflow and flowmaster.

3" is more than enough. I would pick Magnaflow over Flowmaster anyday. (except on Mustangs)

Hi D-Town,
Glad to hear you’re interested in purchasing an exhaust! If you’re looking for a louder, more aggressive sound, Borla offers an “S-Type” and “ATAK” Cat-Back System for your SRT8 Challenger. It’s not necessary to increase your pipe size to pump up the volume. Our “S-Type” system will give your car a more aggressive, throaty sound, while the “ATAK” system kicks it up a notch and is our loudest exhaust system. Below I posted a link to one of our videos of the Challenger R/T with our exhaust systems on it; although it’s not the SRT8, the sound will be very similar. I also included links to our website for the “S-Type” and “ATAK” systems offered for your car. If you have any questions about our products, feel free to give us a call at 805-986-8600. Happy exhaust hunting!

Went thru same dilemma in the summer & considered the same systems. You will have as many opinions as there are systems on the forum.

Finally settled on the Speed Logix Zoomer system for my 392 & couldn't be happier Plus they are a supporting vendor. Quality stuff...

Good luck!

Looks like no one else is going too, so, Corsa Extreme, rust free, full flow and a great sound with NO drone.

Corsa uses rust free stainless, most others use a stainless that is easier to work with but does rust. An example of this is the OEM cat mid pipes that are stainless but turn brown.

A vote for Solo from me! Love the sound (much more aggressive, but not annoying), no drone. Also stainless, yet less expensive than other stainless systems. And, as said earlier - A++ service!

Pypes

Installed Pypes Race Pro cat back the other day. It sounds great, very little drone, old school sound but not too loud at all. Magnaflow has excellent quality also. Automatic Core SRT8.
The worst thing is, almost all the kits sound good so it is a tough call. My decision was based a lot on price.
