Was just looking through the car the other day and noticed this rail is completely attached to the positive terminal. Anybody care to explain what this is?

That’s part of the battery cable. So if you mess up that terminal and have to replace the positive cable for some reason, you can’t just replace the immediate cable like on the negative side. The whole positive cable running from there to the B+ terminal has to be replaced. Last time I priced that, it was north of $200 BTW. So don’t mess that positive terminal up!

Would that have an effect on performance or anything?
