Since we are using premium gas, which is the best brand out there? I know this depends largely on where you live, but here in So Cal I believe its Chevron...

I heard Chevron is good stuff. No stations in my area though. I just use BP or Shell 93. Can't go wrong ;)

Please please PLEASE no one put Casey's or Motomart gas in! Lol... Worse gas on the planet.

I mix 12-14 gal of BP Ultimate Silver 93 with at least 5 gal (sometimes more) of Sunoco 100 to make a full tank of 96+octane...the Sunoco 100 at 7.99 a gal is hard to swallow though, If I buy 40 bucks worth the pump shuts off in about a minute...BRUTAL...but I like knowing my octane is at least a healthy 93 for my tune as you really never know what you're getting for octane at the pump without an octane tester

OP is in SoCal and the highest octane gas we have here is 91.
I put chevron in all my cars since day one. For me it's the techron in their gas. IMO others like shell have too much detergents in their gas which I hear is not that great.
All fuel come from the same refineries. No matter the brand. The difference is the additives added before it gets to the station by the company.
Always buy gas from a high volume station. Also gas quality can vary from station to station even the same brand.
If you wanna know you're getting good gas, do some data logging to see the KR levels. That's the key.

100% BP 93 Octane.

It is the best, I have done all kinds of data logging and the 1st gen 6.1L (it is really sensitive to knock due to its compression ratio with its KR system) is most stable on it and reacts by pulling timing on about everything else. No other commercial brand in my area except expensive racing gas has 93 octane.

In my 07/2012 srt8 jeep i have ran 76,chevron and mobil and all ran the same numbers.
76 is the cheapest and mobil is the most costly. Now in my 2014 cherokee 3.2 V6 the 76 91 and 89 octanes didnt perform as well as mobil 91 and 89 octanes.

I run "Pure Gas", no ethanol 91. Several stations offer this in my area, so "brand" isn't as improtant as having no corn products in my car.
My station used to carry an ethanol-free 93 unbranded but I found out made at the ExxonMobil refinery and car really loved it. Now the octane has been dropped to 90 and I'm still running it and seems to be ok. Just getting harder to find pure gas these days.

Actually in my area, there's been kind of a surge towards offering no ethanol gas the last year or so. I even found numerous stations up in Nebraska (Corn Country) starting to offer it too.

I just hope it stays that way, and keeps spreading.

That is the same as what I found on both our 6.1L Hemis by datalogging. However to totally eliminate ST KNK, I have to mix 1.5 Gal 100 Octane Sunoco to 3.5 Gal BP93. Shell 93 was the worst I tested.
