As far as using a stock forged 392 crank for a stroker 5.7 or 6.1 build what is the max HP for this crank.

Also does anyone know the material it is made of 4340, 4310?

Can't believe no answered this question in 5 years. I am looking to do this exact thing, although there is only a $300 difference between a stock crank and a molnar or manley crankshaft...

Maybe. But that engine has only put out that power on the dyno.

In the real world running on the street, dealing with pump gasoline, a $300 aftermarket crank is good insurance. There's a lot riding on that crank. The crate engine -- which costs how much? -- and around $2K in parts.

Well it should fair better than a stock 5.7 crank which apparently can handle up to 650HP...although it was shown to handle ~1100HP on a dyno.

In the end, I would be more worried about the trans/diff/shafts/CVs handling the power that the factory crank can put out.
