Have any of you '09 and '10 stick shift owners talked to the new owners of the '11 cars or have driven the '11 models yet to see if the wheel hop issues have gotten any better as opposed to our '09 and '10 cars??? Do the new ones still hop when you dump the clutch from a dead stop??? THANKS...

Word on the street is that the 11's still have wheel-hop... I haven't driven a 392 though and as far as i'm concerned i'm going to avoid them like the plague.

Thank you Ironside for your info. I asked the 2011 owners on their side of the forum and have had many reads, but no one wants to answer my question. That leads me to believe there is still wheel hop problems just like the "OLD" cars. That really dissapoints me very much. GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER DODGE!!!! IF YOU CAN'T GET THE POWER TO THE GROUND IT AIN'T WORTH A DAMN!!!

You do know the DRIVER has control over whether a car wheel hops or not, don't you? The "mash and gas" technique is only good for the Dukes of Hazzard-type burnouts... but then, Bo only does it on gravel or on wet roads.

In real drag racing, if you "mash and gas", you LOSE!

I have to agree with VB, the differential slop is a big factor in how much one car gets it vs the other. Btw, even after the clutch is released and you are already accelerating, pushing the gas pedal too quickly can cause hop. It's not always a case of someone dumping the clutch.

yeah, IRS = Independent Rear Suspension.

I blew up my first Getrag just practicing launches bone stock, turned her into open diff. I actually got a replacement from the SRT Team because they wanted to see the aftermath of the one I tore up. When we compared the new one to the old one there was a huge amount of slop on the old one. Did a similar comparison on the replacement few thousand miles later and it developed the exact same slop. Though even with the 426 Stroker the new Getrag is still holding strong. We'll see how share fares with 12lbs of boost :)

Tom

Thanks for clearing that up VB! I only have 1,300 miles so I've got something to look forward to. BTW... what is IRS?

Independant rear suspension?

Thanks, Mitch
