Hey all,

so 09 RT question, I got Corsa catback installed on my Auto.

Now, which headers would you guys recommend, best overall to slap on there, shorties?!? Longs?!? I know longs will void my warranty. In any case, from what I'm being told just a catback kit is an excuse for Chrysler to void your warranty unless you want to drag this out to court.

So, what to do what to do?!? Should I go short, long? Which brand do you recommend and why.

Thanks

Have a CORSA Xtreme and JBA Titanium Coated shorty headers as they will still pass the emissions test here in Ontario. The JBA's are quality made with a 3/8" flange and great fitment.Use the R/T Gaskets as they have a flange that protects the valve cover gaskets from heat damage. The felt gaskets that come with the headers should not be used. Also, the alternator cable will run very close to the header on the passenger side so heat wrap or lift it to avoid any heat damage.I lifted it about 1.5" or so with a heavy duty black nylon tie then fastened the tie to the cable bundle that runs to the fuse box.

The vdieo shows my car with the CORSA Xtreme and JBA shorties. There are also some pics of the JBA headers.

sounds great man, couple of questions..

Did you install the JBA's yourself?
The Diablo, did you have to retune after installing the headers?
Power, did you notice a difference in power output after installing the headers?
Lemme re phrase that, did you install the Corsa's at the same time as the headers, or afterwards, if putting the JBA'S on after, how was the upgrade of the headers alone?!?

THanks man

I had the headers installed by a local performance shop which took about 4 hours time. The headers and Corsa were installed at the same time.In terms of HP increase, yes I did notice the car had more get up and go,...and sounded a ton better. It was about a week after the installation that I received my Predator upon which time the CAI 91 Octane performance tune was loaded and,...well the car just turned into the beast that I expected it to be.

Shortly after that I did some data logging on my laptop and sent the file to DCX Depot for a custom tune. That tune further increased the performance and making the tires spin is now effortless.

I had the car dyno tested when it was 100% stock and will be having a CMR Custom Dyno Tune done at the same facility.I am expecting to see a 40-45 RWHP gain.My 'Butt' dyno tells me I should be fairly close to that.

Others with similar mods have also realized those gains.

I was going to attempt to install the headers but after reading a post or two by others on how tight it was when doing without a lift I decided to go with an outside source. The mechanic who performed the work landed up removing the motor mounts to make the job easier and quicker. He commented on the fact that it is tight in there.

When I examined the stock exhaust manifolds I was surprised as to how restrictive and heavy they were in design which further strengthened my decision to have them removed.

I'm quite sure the engine is breathing much easier,...I know the tires think so!
