It's been asked quiet a few times here and on some of the other boards we sponsor, that with today's retro vehicles (Mustang, Camaro, Challenger ETC.) why are there no white letter sidewall tires?

I do not have an answer to that question but I'm curious to see some of your responses to my questions...and those questions are:

1) If a tire manufacturer were to produce a white letter tire for today's reto-vehicles, which sizes would you like to see?

2) Which sizes would you actually BUY?

3) What type of style would you like the white letters to be?
IE:
RWL - Raised White Letters
ORWL - Outlined Raised White Letters
OWL - Outlined White Letters
Just so everyone is on the same page, I'm not saying this will go anywhere outside of this thread/forum but I will certainly pass this information along to some of the major tire manufacturers.

Thank you everyone for your support!

-Matt

RWL - 245/45-20 on mine! NO Outlined white letters. Full lettering like B.F.T/A's and the old Goodyear Polyglas tires.

Gotta be RWL like above but I've like to see some in the following sizes for a few of our vehicles... The Indy Rams have been without solid RWL tires since the Firestone Indy 500 Firehaws were discontinued in 275/60R17.:redcap:

275/60R17

305/60R17

305/50R20

Same here, especially the Goodyear Polyglas. Goodyear had the best looking RWL ever made with the polyglas, it surprises me they've never clued in to the potential brand value. One look at Mecum will tell you how popular that polyglass look remains. And please, not the oversized letters like on the Goodyear Eagle GT II.

RWL all the way! There is a HUGE market for these tires and whatever tire company markets them will have it all in no time. Word would spread like wildfire on the forums (ALL muscle car forums) so minimal advertising costs too.

I can see making RWL in the 18" sizes, but not the 20's. Not enough sidewall on the 20's...the letters would be tiny!

I sell tires for a living, and there are a few folks who would buy them if they were available. That said, I would not buy them for my ride.

I like the look of the picture HellRaiser posted. 20's are the most popular for the Challengers and a great size for this size car.
Make 'em in 20's! RWL.

Yes, this is what we want. I would buy these for my stock Heritage 20s.

RWL only!! I would definitely go for 18" and would like to see 245 thru 295. I think the 18" will give a better look with more sidewalk showing. I know a few guys running 18" wheels and they look good. They would rock with RWL.

Bring back the solid raised BF Goodrich lettering tires and make them for 20" rims (to fit new Challengers & Camaros).

Make a standard 245/45/20 and some in larger widths...255-315 for about $150 - not in any ridiculous $270 price ranges.
Or just make this tire with raised white letters since they don't produce any touring 20's in 45 ratios...BFGoodrich Tires g-FORCE T/A KDW 245/40ZR20 95Y BWl

I actually prefer the "big" letter look of the GT II and the BFG's. They'd probably look better on a truck but at this point any RWL tire for 17+" rims is a step in the right direction.

RWL - Raised White Letters
Make them in 18 & 20's with 245's thru 315's.
If it is a retro, it has to be muscle, and needs wide tires. I would buy in a heart beat.
This is a member here (sorry member..me forgot your name) and it looks perfect.
Hellraiser's got it nailed... I agree and would buy them straight away.

Would be nice to see some 20" drag slicks as well, say a 295-305-315/40-20?

NICE PIC! Hellraiser got the right idea! I want 4 of them in 20's.
245/45 front and 295/40 rear!
