Did you install the proper 5x115mm bolt pattern or go with 5x4.5?

Shimmy means balance issues in my world, or a slightly warped/bent wheel but I doubt that. Did you start driving them after a long time sitting? Ultra High perf tires don't like to sit too long when on the car..... actually no tire likes to sit too long, they tend to get "flat spots".

99/100 times it's balance. Does the shop do many 22s?

actually it's your car rejecting the wheels because it can't understand why you didn't save a bundle and buy the pimps I've got for sale. Haha!

That is an absolutely critical question to ask, because I made the mistake of putting a set of Cragar SS's on my '10 SRT that were 5x114.3 (5x4.5) and NO MATTER what you do they WILL NOT balance correctly and will shimmy at any speed over 72 mph in this particular case. And yes, I am using correct hub-centric rings with them. They will be for sale very shortly very cheaply If those 22's are not the correct 5x115 bolt pattern you can just forget getting them to drive correctly at speed..

I had the same problem after I put my new wheels on. After re-balancing, road force balancing and few other things, it turned out to be that the shop that mounted the tires on the new rims broke one of the TPMS sensors which was causing the vibration. Couldn't tell you why this wasn't discovered during the balancing but replacing the sensor fixed the problem.

Shimmy shimmy

I had the same problem 4 weeks ago after having Vossens and Nittos installed and lowering my ride. My wheel would shake between 65 mph and 85 mph. I was very upset at what I had done to my car. My installer said the wheel balance was dead on. Not so! I had them "Roadforce Balanced" on a hunter machine. This machine is slick! It took an 90 minutes to do all four wheels. Three out of four tires had to be moved on the rim to get proper balance. One wheel went from 32lbs of force down to 2 lbs of force. Guess what???

Buttaahhh man... Smooth as Buttahhh! My ride is silky smooth now. No vibrations at all, regardless of speed! Alignment is PERFECT! Car practically drove itself to Challengerfest 2. I love it!

Note: Don't forget to remove the factory clips from the wheel studs (these clips hold the rotor tight against the hub). Sometimes these clips interefere with aftermarket rims.

Good Luck!

All wheels and tires have "heavy" spots. As StevoHemi mentioned, often times tires need to be broken down and turned on the rim to align the heavy spots to a corresponding "light" spot so that the wheel/tire combination balances correctly.

Also tires, no matter how expensive or "good" they are, they are still just layers of natural and synthetic rubber, steel wires woven into belts, layered together then Vulcanized with sulfur. Most factories pull samples to check but not every single tire is thoroughly scrutinized and chances for defects still exist.
