Ok, I've been rummaging around the rabbit hole of this forum in weighing my future mods for my eventual rebuild.

Came across the standard cam specs (posted by Chally Tatum, thanks) of the 5.7, 6.1, 6.4 and 6.2 cams.

Since I'm going NA (just cruising around duty), I concentrated on the 6.1 vs 6.4. I noticed the 6.1 has a slightly greater lift on the exhaust, same on intake, at a 2 degrees less exhaust duration, with the overlap of the 6.2 cam. I have a 6M so MDS is not a concern.

So why not the 6.1 cam for an upgrade? Just an availabiilty/cost issue or am I missing something else?

Cam blanks are different between VVT and non-VVT motors.

The 5.7 in the Challengers has VVT, the 6.1 does not.

Great cam upgrade for a 2008 5.7 and earlier, but doesn't work in the 09+ Eagle 5.7.

Thanks, figured I was missing something. VVT obviously.
