Hi everyone,
2012 challenger srt8. The drop down feature on the driverside window has went haywire. It will go up down up down for a minute or two and then i can here a ticking in the door. It will do this two or three times before it stops. Sometimes it will even do it while I am driving down the road. Also my auto door locks do not always lock at 20 mph like they are suppose too. Sometimes it takes 10 to 15 minutes of driving for them to lock. Any suggestions or information on what could be wrong would be awesome!!!
Thanks everyone.

Have you done ANYTHING recently to your car, Mod or Electrically add ons?

Just throwing darts but it could be a ground problem, also see if you can manually calibrate your Drivers window auto up/down positions. Do this by the following:>

Key On:
NOTE: The door must be completely closed when starting this step. 1. Sit in the driver seat and close the door. 2. Lower the window part of the way down. 3. Run the window to the full up position and continue to hold the switch for an additional two seconds. 4. Run the window to the full down position and continue to hold the switch for an additional two seconds. 5. Raise the window to the full up position. 6. Open the door while observing the window.

Your under the 3/36 maybe a visit to the Dealer?

NP the auto lock concern has me worried it not just a calibration issue, let us know what fixes it if you can.
More than likely a electrical issue with the drivers door module or wires.

Good Luck

Its the smart switch on the door lock assembly. Its only available with the lock. They just did mine before I went out of warranty. It will run your battery down as quick as overnight even if the window is down. The switch is constantly waking up the can buss and waking up the whole car.

Hello I’m here to help literally disregard what everyone is saying, the problem you’re encountering on your is your smart glass to correct this problem you need to buy a new driver side / or passenger side lock actuator, here is the part number, 931-749 they will charge the shit out of you at a dealership if they can even find the issue that’s accusing me and my friends all have challengers and each one of us encountered this issue and fixed it, also if you continue to drive with this problem ignoring it your battery will start to die over night because the smart glass is running and raising your window down about an inch and raising it back up, the door panel is simple to take off with only 3 screws and 7 push pins, 3 wires to disconnect and a metal rod connected to the door handle, there is YouTube videos online for the fix if you need to find them as well, while you’re in you minus well change the window motor because those go to shit because of the smart window abusing the crap out of them. The air for actuator at autozone is about $100-150, simple fix took me only about an hour and 30 mins. If you are to change the motor as well you must remove most of the window assembly and it’s a little more difficult I advise on bringing in the motor you take out of the window to autozone or where you get parts and make sure it’s the exact same motor or you’ll have to change out your assembly or return it, the motor is only 50 dollars as well it’s better then spending near to a thousand, hope this helps.
