I always wanted an old 60's Charger so when they brought out the new Challenger it took 10 years to get one, definitely not disappointed. The only bad thing is now I want a Scat or Hellcat. I would lose my butt as I owe more then what the car is worth even with 4227 miles on it. If I go out to the car lot they are selling for much more then what they tell me mine is worth. That's what we get for buy brand new I guess.
This takes me back. I had a 1970. Mine never looked so good though. Bought it in my senior year of high school. Faded orange paint and a ton of money spent on the 400 build left not enough for new paint when I was still just a kid in my teens and then the car was gone by the time I was just 21. In my 3rd year of college a door man at a local night club I'd see at the drag strip wanted it more than I did and I sold it to him in 1981. He painted it.......I'd see it parked around town where I was in school. I like to think someone still has it and it lives on. Horrendous MPG but a strong runner that could hit mid 12s on street tires when I sold it. In 1980 I was running the car a Cayuga just about every weekend all summer long. Just typing that makes me realize how very ago that was. I can't say I remember most of the runs but I can still hear that engine ring with it's open headers. Wildest cam profile I ever had in any car I've ever owned.
This was not the latest but was a favorite. 1969 Z28 with the real 302. Bought it used for about $3,000 and with about 3,000 miles on it. If I knew what these were going to be worth someday I would have tried keeping it.
It looks like a standard issue Firebird with Trans Am fenders by the time you swap out the hood and wheels. Did you remove hood and shaker or did you buy it second hand with the hood in place already?
I remember those L88 hoods. Seems like the aftermarket made 'em for virtually any car you wanted to put one on.

When I was 14, my girlfriend at the time had one of those, same color and everything. We used to meet at the skating rink then we'd go out cruising and she would let me drive it.
Ha. That’s great. This was a one year color......Martinique Blue in 1978. My girlfriend had one this color. Long story short, I married that girl 37 years ago. We sold it a few years after being married, and always regretted it. In 2015 when I retired, I started searching for a 78 in Martinique Blue. And there she is....it is my wife’s car.
