Capless gas tank

I have tried to get a hose into the tank on a Charger that was in the shop for a fuel pump issue. The Charger fuel neck locks the flaps, so a fuel pump nozzle (or equivalent size funnel) has to be used to unlock it. Then, the fuel tank itself has another flap at the entrance where the neck is connected. I couldn't get a hose in to pump out the fuel on that car no matter what I did. I could defeat the lock an the top of the neck, but not the flap at the tank itself. So I don't worry about fuel being siphoned from my cars. Besides, the fuel thieves around here are more likely to get it from trucks, where they can punch a hole in the tank and catch it as it runs out while they saw the catalytic converters off.
This is exactly true. Syphoning gas isn't much of a thing anymore. There is no need to. Sure it may still be possible for a determined thief, but why bother when you can just crawl under trucks and drill the tanks. There are plenty of easy targets in every parking lot that are much more appealing to them, and it's not like these scumbags care if they cause damage.
