Just bought a 2014 dodge 2500 parts truck from my neighbor that had bought it new I’ve known the truck it’s whole life, anyways went to pull the motor, and it has all the extra ribbons cast into block, and has the BGE heads on it, but the block only has 6.4 stamped on the side in the back nowhere on it does it have the BG or BGE cast into it, I have read that some of the early 2014 BGE blocks did not have the BGE cast in it to it. Is this correct from everything that I can see on the block it is a BGE block just not having the lettering. If somebody could clear this up for me, I’d appreciate it , if it makes any difference the truck was built November 18 of 2013

If I were gonna consider using it for a build I would sonic test rather than being concerned with any of that ^^^

That’s what I had heard
Same as the 440 big blocks… do not go by casting numbers or stampings, look at the deck and the water jacket to determine if it were cast for a motor home or not
And just like the big block any block will work. I have had early blocks live and the later improved blocks crack
I stop drilled and tapped a crack in one that I then beat the hell out of for 2 years

Someone oughta make a cartoon with a bunch of hf mf standing around a bge that is on a engine stand
