Trying to see what if anything can clean up interior scratches on plastic components. My car has all of 2k miles and somehow already has a giant scratch on the glove box door. My assumption it is from one of three people I have had ride in it. I am pretty irritated looking at it. I considered replacing the whole glove box assembly it bothers me so much, but at $400 I want to try something before I blow that kind of money. Does anyone have remedies for scratches? It isnt deep thankfully but it runs about 6 inches in total.

Don’t use a heat gun it’s a good way to ruin the plastic and have it dry out prematurely. It’s not something I would ever recommend. It works by heating plastic to the point the oils come up to the surface pulling the oils out of the plastic which is why it causes premature oxidation.
With no pictures it’s hard to tell you what you can do. With mild scratches you can use a magic eraser that can minimize them but that’s about it. I don’t know of any method that could actually fix it. If you go this route do it gently, if it doesn’t work then I think your only option is to replace.
