As a matter of fact I do. I had a dyno day yesterday and we had 5 392 cars on the dyno. The one with the mopar cai made the lowest number. Even less than 2 with the stock airbox.

So you tell me why it makes less HP then others and even the factory airbox?

Your results are skewed by something like engine heat soak or some other condition. I need clarification :D

Yah, I ran 30 something cars with 50+ people standing around. All cars were run the same way. I must of done something wrong.

At a car show i went to a guy had a 392 chally and he also stated he lost 3hp on the dyno from a stock base dyno run.....they changed the intake right there at the shop to see how much it would pick up......but he lost power...

Legmaker's and speedlogix intake have been dyno proven to pick up 10hp and 12tq on the dyno....I bought legmakers cause the intake angles down towards the grill or inner fender.....

I don't see how that's possible
The mopar air filter is way bigger. I have the speedlogix tube
With the blue mopar filter. I can't imagine the speedlogix flows at a higher cfm

It is almost laughable that people are pissing on the Mopar CAI in relation to the LM and SX. The latter 2 CAIs are not sealed to the hood and will draw engine compartment air, while the mopar is sealed to the hood and front fender air is what it gets. The hood sealing of the Mopar CAI (and Airraid) is an improvement over LM and SX CAIs and for me, that is the way to go. But, I may hear the sealing of the Mopar air enclosure has a choking effect. Yep, that's it.

Thanks for not answering my question(s).
You make it sound like I owe you an answer.

BTW to all you doubters, the first cai I made had the smallest filter of all of em. It made as much power as any of them. Filters are not the restriction in a tube setup. Tube diameter and velocity determine more in regards to power than filter size.

And that makes no difference on a dyno. At speed it might. And it has a crappy little tube. Lmi and sx are both better.

so the Mopar cai lost 3 hp peak? What was the most loss below max hp?
Well the guy i met at a car show did not have his dyno sheet but we talked about it and said he lost power on the dyno with the mopar intake and he told me how much........thats why he ordered another one....he has the results and was in dis belief.....but who knows could of been the dyno...but...with stock he did 3 pulls and with the mopar air intake did 3 pulls as well and was consistent all 3 times with around 3hp loss vs stock......same dyno, same temp, same everything....and it was with the hood open with 2 fans in front of the car.....

have you seen the Mopar "cai" !?!?

the thing is a filter strapped onto the stock intake assembly, HAHA !!!

and they want over $400 for a filter clmaped on the stock tube - oh, but it' sealed to the hood, which probably chokes it out harder than Anderson Silva.

I honestly dont know...I know it uses the stock tubing...
yeah, gross and ineffective .

1) there is a thread for Air Raid around here - they themselves posted a dyno graph proving that their intake choked up right in the middle of the pull. it's like both before and after dyno graphs were making the same exact hp and tq from @ 3500-4500 if i remember correctly. they posted that graph so i'm not making this up.

2) i wouldn't trust the Mopar intake due to the complete lack of engineering. stock intake tube assembly !?!? C'MOOOOOON !!!!!

not surprising at all.

"here Mopar, have my $400 - now make my car slower and restrictive"

Seriously folks, why is it people have to argue with everything I say?

I have a dyno, I test this stuff. I have the fastest 392. I own a shop that does mopars. Beyond that, I'm not charging for info or selling anything. I have no reason to steer anyone wrong.

I seriously want everyone to enjoy their cars and only spend money on stuff that works

I know I'm not part of the thread nor do I own the 392, but I want to thank Brian for all his information and advise. There are few people on this board that back up their opinions with data, and you do this. Thanks. :bigthumb:
