I was looking to buy the air lift kit for the challenger wondering if anyone has any info or experience with this kit?

Which one did you buy? I'm just curious how much it would cost me to just do the front so I can stop scraping every time I go over a small bump. I don't want to raise the car perm though because it looks sooo good down low.

let us know how it handles .. they claim its better then coil overs ,but i have never seen a race team use them . looks like a well made kit.. good luck and keep us posted

And that's absolutely everything you need to install them? How high/low can then go? Is there a way to set predetermined heights? I want to be able to hit one button to raise it and then another for it to lower it back to the same height. I don’t want to have to hold it like a window and hope that I’m not too low or not low enough for my tastes every time I’m going over a bump that I don’t want to scrap on.

Apparently it is all adjustable...All from the inside on a digital display.

Air Lift Auto Pilot Digital Air Management System Details

One Touch Ride Height

The Air Lift Auto Pilot Digital Air Management System allows you to return to your ride's programmed ride height without tapping switches and watching gauges. Whether you are below, or above your optimal height, just tough one button to return to return to your aligned height, and prevent tire wear.

Auto Ride Height on Start

If the user so chooses you can lift your vehicle to the programmed ride height with the start of the engine. This feature can be suspended at the whim of the user as well. This valuable feature is not available in many competitive products.

Individual Wheel Control

Want to take full control? The Air Lift Auto Pilot Digital Air Management System allows you to adjust each wheel separately. This is also known as 'front back side to side' control.

All Inflate and Deflate Buttons

Also known as pancake control, this simple control gives you 4 wheel height control up and down with one switch.

Lol... not really the purpose I would get them for, but I won't lie I would probably mess around with them if I was all alone and no one could see me.

Air bags. That makes more sense. I've done them on a magnum, charger and a 300. They are great. You will never be aligned. These cars look sweet set to the ground.
I was thinking I could just do the front to take care of my scraping issues.

Please let me know how it goes RTS, if you could please let me know if you had to get any specialty tools to do the job. I have put my rear coilovers on hold until I see if this is the route I want to go all around. Thank you very very much for the info and pictures!

My buddy has a Air-Zenith kit on his. I personally like the look of it sitting on the ground, then you can raise it up for driving or even above stock height if you run into a steep situation. The ride on these are incredible and it looks very aggressive coming down the street when the wheels hug the wheel wells.

Well, after a painful process...looks like I should have this wrapped up today.

First off, the kit does not fit the 2011+ which I was told that it would. The rear fit fine it was the front struts that where the issue. The U that connects to the control arm was about 3/4" to small. So i had to send them back to air lift along with the oem struts and lots of pics to get the new ones made.

You can see in the first pic the red circle that was 3/4" too wide for the air lift kit and you can see in the other pics where they sent back a wider strut matching my oem.

Now the parts are on the car along with hotchkis sways and air lines. only thing left is running electrical and digital controller to the console... I will post finished product with videos and a review after I drive it.:yumyum:

Alright... I did some research in regards to Air Ride Suspension for the 2011-2012 Challengers if anyone is interested. I'm not sure if RTS found a solution for his issue but I did find that he did leave a bad review on Amazon after purchasing this set (rightfully so).

I made a call to AirLift and they said "no we do not support the newer Challengers but maybe sometime in the future". I then attempted to call Ridetech and they said a kit is in consideration but nothing is available at this time. The rep at Ridetech was apologetic and told me to call Reilly Motorsports because he thought they might have been attempting to mount one of their Air Bag Struts on a newer model Challenger. I called them and talked to Bill who was extremely helpful and found out that he was working on his 09 Charger suspension. Once I started to explain that one of our members had issues with the AirLift kit and had pictures on here to show it, he looked online and read this thread and saw exactly what the problem was. He then informed me that the Ridetech shock can be modified to fit with little issue and with the right tools. The difference between the AirLift and Ridetech suspension is that bottom piece is welded on the Airlift where is on the Ridetech it is bolted on.

Currently, he's offered to investigate with Ridetech to see what it would take to modify that bottom piece so that it would fit our newer Challengers. He hopes to get a response Monday, I'm hoping its good news. I'll keep you all informed as to what I find.

Thanks,
B

I think as of right now I am the only 2011 Challenger in existence with the AirLift Kit. After a long month of back and forth we finally got everything to work. They know exactly what needs to be done to modify the kits for the 2011 I just don't think they are seeing enough interest to be honest.

Interesting. I am cosidering a air lift also. My front spoiler is a issue at times for me. For every day driving I would like a little more hieght.

Hey I was just reading this thread about the Air Lift system, I'm rather torn about whether to get bags or coilovers. Does anyone have the Air Lift system installed on an SRT? If so, are you having any issues with alignment?

#24 ·
I have the Accuair set up with bags from universal air. Your alignment will change with bags as your able to change it up or down. If your concerned on alignment get coilivers and the parts needed to get the alignment in. I love my bag set up on my SRT

I have the air lift kit, the difference in 6,rt, or SRT won't make much of a difference. If you change to coil overs you will def be better off as far as alignment. But the functionality of raising or lowering ur vehicle is a big perk (especially in New Orleans). But if you have to drop it every time you park it (for looks) it will def cause for adjustment constantly. As far as everyday, I like the bags. If it was a track/race car def coil overs.

Thanks for the input guys. Yeah I'm not really going to track it much but I am one for spirited driving. Have you guys seen any issues with reliability of the bags system or any pulling to one side, excessive tire wear, etc. due to the alignment?

Hey guys what's the latest on this ? How has the airlift setup been over a period of time ? I'm am right at the head of decision time as I have been trying to decide between BC coilovers of the airlift setup, due to being in the uk I need to make the right decision as shipping is expensive and spares will be slow to get and expensive if I have a failure, I run a 2009 SRT8 as a daily driver with 22" ruff wheels, as I drives the car daily I can't slam it on the floor like I want so if going with coilovers I need to have it lower than stock but usable or I say what the hell go all out and bag it, not gonna track it but do drive anywhere from 100 to 300 miles a week in it so want reliability ? What's your opinion on airlift over a period of time ? Good bad or indifferent I would live to know how you guys have got on with it thanks vaughan
