My passenger side quarter window was shattered last Friday. At first, I thought it was just bad luck thermal expansion stuff. But yesterday I found there's a knife mark on the driver's side window. Does that mean someone tried to steal my car? It's tinted so they can't see its manual from outside.

May have been a simple car burglary as well. No way of knowing what's in a scumbag's brain.
As far as a manual, yeah, it's possible. Each step taken to prevent a theft is one more obstacle for that scumbag and a reason for him to move on to another target instead. Nowadays, the manual tranny is one of those steps. A club is another (not many are carrying saws and lock defeating devices on them). Endless theft prevention measures can be taken and each one is good! This does not apply to professional thieves who have seen it all and basically 'been there, defeated that."

Where were you an LEO? Scum bag is a polite term.
Here in the northeast they are referred to as shitums. I have friends from local to state to fbi and secret service and they all use that term.
So happy all my friends are retired considering the current climate on the streets.
