Just bought a 2014 dodge 2500 parts truck from my neighbor that had bought it new I’ve known the truck it’s whole life, anyways went to pull the motor, and it has all the extra ribbons cast into block, and has the BGE heads on it, but the block only has 6.4 stamped on the side in the back nowhere on it does it have the BG or BGE cast into it, I have read that some of the early 2014 BGE blocks did not have the BGE cast in it to it. Is this correct from everything that I can see on the block it is a BGE block just not having the lettering. If somebody could clear this up for me, I’d appreciate it , if it makes any difference the truck was built November 18 of 2013

Sick too,
I agree with all u said, but a was wanting to know IF there were some early 6.4 BGE blocks that didn’t get the “BGE” stamping cast onto them?

From a build perspective, the 6.4 BGE to a better block to build than the standard 6.4

And going back to my ? I have a 6.4 block with all the BGE hallmarks, ( reinforced ribbing on block, etc) but no BGE stamping anywhere, was wanting to know if anyone has heard of this or has one also???

Here is block # 05045481AB, I’ll take pics of the block tonite

I was able to confirm through Dodge that some of the early BMG blocks , did Not Have the BGE or “bg” stamps used in the 2500hd and 3500 hd tradesmen trucks,
The casting number that was used on these blocks was, 05045481ab, they are “bge”, just before Dodge decided to stamp BG or BGE on the blocks to help 2 differentiate the car blocks from the truck blocks at the plant, said these blocks were probably ran for the first four maybe five months max of the truck casting, before the BGE was added
