Hello,
I’m a new member here and hope to get answers on a new device named Fuel savepro. This new device is suppose to simply plug into the OBD and greatly reduce the consumption of gas and adjust the car’s diagnostics for more power. If anyone has heard of this item or better yet owns one I would greatly appreciate your experience with it. I’m not getting a warm fuzzy with the supposed benefits it’s supposed to bring.

Hold on now... Throttle Response Controllers are not gimmicks. They never say they increase HP at all. I have the PedalMonster and it absolutely increases my throttle response. My off the line from a dig is way faster. They absolutely work as advertised. They open the throttle more and sooner but in an exponential way. The Tazer does this and adds some neat functions to the car (light shows, performance pages if you don't have them). I believe these devices just mask the CANBus data in transit with theirs. That's why some people have issues with the really cheap throttle response controllers. They change the devices setting while having their foot on the throttle and the PCM gets mixed messages for throttle response and goes into limp mode. The better devices, like PedalMonster, lock out changing modes until you come to a complete stop. Also, the PedalMonster defaults to stock throttle response in reverse for safety.
However... if it says it can increase HP just via plug in to OBD2, assume it's a gimmick. It's not possible without a tune to the PCM.

This device combined with gentle driving and the usual techniques for increasing fuel economy will improve fuel economy.

However, you can get the same benefit from applying the usual techniques if you simply cut a piece of electrical tape 2" long (+/- 1/4 inch) and tape it over the OBD port. Apply it carefully and neatly, sealing all edges well.

Every time you start the car, you must remember that you have the device (or the electrical tape) and drive accordingly. You must remember you have the modification and drive accordingly or it will not work. While a 35% claim is likely excessive unless you were a speed demon before the modification, I think 10% is quite realistic.

So driving it “gently” like an average car will save gas on anything, right?
I know driving like I drive my Scat Pack will not improve economy.

Driving too gently will also hurt fuel economy too. Moderate acceleration is best. And don't tailgate, this leads to many taps on the brakes, and each brake tap requires a bit of gas pedal to pick up speed again. Back off so you don't need brakes when you could be cruising. I do this in my Scat when behind someone. It saves gas, is safer, and less stressful.

Also, when coming to a stop sign or light, let off the gas and coast down on speed for a bit rather than driving on the gas as long as possible and then stopping harder. This also saves gas.

But in my Scat, those gas savings, combined with fun and safe romping on clear roads when there is no traffic or other hazards will more than overcome the 10% fuel savings provided by my electrical tape hack. Well, maybe 25% possible in my Scat.

I'm getting about 16 mpg but can push it down to 12. Not sure how good it could be as I have almost no time on a highway with cruise control.

Obvious scam, something like this exists for every major product in existence. If car companies had a software issue that was causing cars to use 1.5x the gas, one of them would fix it and dominate the entire market.

These scams exist in every industry, for example for cellphone batteries. They identify a vague but somewhat legitimate concern so there is an air of credibility and then sell you something that does nothing.

I find this one hilarious, literally just a phone charger they even have other ads that describe it as such, but at some point they tried to sell it as a device that reverses "planned obsolescence and fixes your battery.

This reminds me of when Bill Cosby bought a Ferrari and had to keep taking it to the service department because it was running rough, and he finally asked the service tech why. The tech told him, Mr Cosby, this is a high performance car, you cannot drive this car 35mph everywhere you go, you occasionally have to turn it loose and blow the carbon out of it. Bill said, And where exactly do I do that around here, the Tech said, any side street. :ROFLMAO:
