Is there a difference in gaskets?

So I am looking though my parts list on the cam kit, my next step is gaskets. I am not wanting to cut corners, but if I can get similar quality product cheaper somewhere else that is always nice.

Being said, Brian Tooley Racing quoted me OEM Mopar Performance gaskets for the head gasket, header gasket, valve cover gasket, timing cover gasket, crank seal, and water pump gasket. I have not compared prices, but are these gaskets similar to what you would pick up at your local O'reilly?

All I am doing is a cam. I suppose I am asking if the Fel-Pro or Mahle gaskets are comparable for the Mopar gaskets. The OEM water pump gasket is $30 vs $7. Is there a difference or am I paying for a box? Which (if any) gaskets are substitutable?

I've used fel Pro waterpump and timing cover gaskets before no leaks.


The only thing I see is maybe head bolts. I bought fel pro ones off Rockauto and had no issues as well. Nearing 200K miles and she isn't babied.


Otherwise rest of the prices to me arn't bad considering how much other places have jacked them up so far.
