Seven quarts! That's what the book stated on the correct # for the 09 SRT with oil change and filter, and that's exactly what it received. Three or four oil changes later, I notice the dreaded oil spots under the car, bummer. Found the leak was coming from the rear main seal and I decided then and there to accept the leak rather than take it in on warranty and in the end, glad I didn't. Year or so later while checking the engine oil, noticed that it was well over the full mark as usual. That had me thinking about lowering the oil level to be between the two fill lines and that solved the problem. Six and 2/3 quarts exactly.
Lots of info out there on the down side of more oil in the pan getting in the way of everything going in there and it don't take much, kind of a confined space in there. Apparently, it's kinda hard on seals as well.
