Seeing as this thread was dug up, I'd also like to add the following, in case anyone has any ideas... please :)

2009 SRT8 with 2 FOBICS:

* Fob 1 - Car unlocks correctly, starts with pushbutton and drives without issues

*Fob 2 - Car unlocks correctly but does NOT start with pushbutton. It displays the age-old error "Key Fob Not Detected". Car will start and drive by removing the pushbutton, inserting the fob and turning like a key

Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Unfortunately Dodge / Chrysler do not deal in the UK so options are limited, unless there is a method of programming at home?

Many thanks in advance for any help :)

My is exactly the same way.

Key Fob 1# works everything and starts my 2013 Challenger RT

Key Fob 2# opens my doors but get the message that it doesn't recognize my fob when I try to start the car???

Changing the battery

How the heck do you switch the key fob battery?
Take all key chains off of the FOB or it won't open up. You pull out the valet key (grey Dodge end). There is a slider to disengage the valet key. This exposes a small rectangle pry area. Gently pry the front & back apart. I used a standard screw driver and twisted it gently. the battery sits in the back part of the case. The positive side (battery number 2032) is facing down. Hope this helps. I used to work at a jewelry counter and changed these all the time. I second the person who said the lithium batteries are not any better than regular ones in the FOBs. I own a 2012 Charger.

This may not apply to the problems most are having, but my son's 300 both fobs quit working. It is a 10 year old car.Anyway we looked inside and a contact on both fobs, same spot had came loose.I solded both of them, and both still work after over a year.

Just something to look at.
