Yes you can install them after the fact. I did it on my 2015 R/T. You'll need Alfa OBD to turn them on in the car's BCM.

 

Thank you for the answer and that is great to hear! Does this mean that all Dodge Challenger R/T steering wheels from 2015 onwards are capable of having paddle shifters installed by default? Are there any specific conditions or instances where paddle shifters may not be installable? I'm particularly concerned about cases (if any) where the manufacturer had built the steering wheels without the necessary wiring inside.

 

That is what it means, all of the wheels are the same and can accept paddle shifters.

sorry, I was at work when I responded, yes it's tricky but easy. I used the Hellcat Shifters as they are bigger than the R/T ones. You will need a security bypass or you add an OBD port in your trunk on an 18 up. Lots of information on this site. Welcome aboard.
