Power Window Motors and regulators: is OEM worth the price?

So I had my passenger window motor/regulator assembly go bad, and am looking at prices on new parts. I don’t necessarily want to spend the ~$80 for each of those parts OEM, but I definitely don’t want to have to get the interior door cover off again (it was a pain in the behind) to replace it again should a knock-off give out.

Any advice? Is there an after market manufacturer that can be depended on?
I can afford the OEM parts no problem, but don’t want to “waste” my money on parts that are more expensive than necessary.

OEM lasted 12 years, just sayin'. For most parts I'm an OEM guy myself

What A Guy said.

When the window regulators in one of my cars wore out I just had the tech replace them with factory regulators. The original regulators worked fine for years. I feel I got my money's worth out of them.

I came upon a video posted by a mechanic who replaced a bad window regulator with an aftermarket one. I think this was either at the customer's insistence or that of the shop management.

The car was back not long after with the window not working again. Long story short the new aftermarket regulator proved to be inadequate.
