Shaker Hood Pro's and Con's / Opinions ???

I have it, I love it. The main reason I got a Challenger over a Charger. I had a 2015 Charger and absolutely loved it, but wanted to step up to a 392, so when looking again, for kicks I included Challengers in my searches, then the SHAKER sucked me in, literally.
Only downside is the expense, they are an expensive option for no shown or claimed performance increase.
Well, another slight downside is that it is a bit more involved putting oil in the engine, but literally 1 minute of your time. You remove the SHAKER top, and then you get the the Oil Fill openings. But if you get the super cool SHAKER tool, all the more swagability included.

I made some posts a year or so ago about mine for kicks.

Another cool thing with the SHAKER moving is, it goes the other way on severe engine braking, in lower gears, so if on some twistys, and say you are in 2nd gear getting on and off the power, you notice it rocking left, then hard right, then center... This may be a win in the M6 column though, but you can still see it when paddling away on the A8, just so quick it is hard to see.

...
I've owned the Shaker for almost 5 years, with the exception of removing the shaker top to access oil fill (takes about 1 minute each way) the remainder of the complaints are nothing burgers.

Bottom line, if you like the Shaker and are willing to pay for it. get it. Absolutely nothing to worry over.
Yep, that sums it up. I took mine off, taking pictures, closing hood without it, replacing it, all in 3 minutes. And if someone actually thinks that is hard when adding oil, I feel like slapping them.
You add oil when, 99% of the time, you change oil.
So compared to raising the car, crawling under, REMOVEING THE DAMNED UNDERBODY PAN while upside down, this is what people complain about? Literally the only real downside is the expense. And it is a lot of money, but man the prices like $600 for a different color brake calipers (not just painted, but painted different), or $1000 for the Barracuda/SRT rear spoiler MORE than the standard spoiler which isn't that different? The SHAKER package for $2600 now almost sounds reasonable in price.

very true, the 1 k spoiler upgrade is a total joke, where is my credit for the spoiler you did not install. the option prices are crazy and seem to provide no deduct for the parts they are not installing.
Yep, but I admit, it does look pretty dang cool, and if one fell of a truck in front of my house, I'd probably put it on.
But if there were 2 cars sitting there, one with SRT spoiler, and one with my Scat Pack one, and the Scat Pack one also had a briefcase with $1000 in it in the trunk, I know which car I'd take.

...
Yes and with the 1k SRT spoiler you cannot get the Bumble Bee stripe. I went with the stripe for half what the spoiler costs. Allot more visual "bang for the buck" if you ask me.
I didn't know that, that seems dumb to me. I love the Scat Pack stripe, mine is part of the Scat Pack Appearance Group, but now they are a-la-carte.
My second choice depending on color of the car is the Shakedown stripe.

Mopar advertises the Shaker as: "The Scat Pack Shaker gets the legendary cold-air grabbing hood for pumping more cold air into the engine and still mimics the “shaking” movement of the powertrain to give drivers a feel of real power when getting behind the wheel.". But in reality the hood scoop delivers more cold air to the engine? I think the statement that "it's all cosmetics." is incorrect. I am new to Mopars (still waiting on my 21' SPWB M6 Shaker). Maybe someone can help me on this. Here is one report:
It is definitely cosmetics, if not "all". But there is no advertised power or performance increase with it either.

A lot of shaker lovers here. I like the overall exterior look, but when the engine is viewed, I always think of this..... View attachment 1019976
Never thought of it that way, but since they started putting those covers on basically everything 5.7 anyway, it is still an improvement.
But I'm sure Lord Helmet will come to mind next time I look at my SHAKER

Another perk of the SHAKER, you get 2, 2 looks in 1!

Nice. What is that in the lower grille of the Scat? Surveillance camera. Looks like a Cyclops.
Frequently referred to as a lady's part down there... And yep, radar sensor for Adaptive cruise and collision avoidance. Basically Mercedes DisTronic.
