I luv the look of the shaker but If yur going to daily drive in rain or snow, water drips into engine compartment
Mine is a daily driver and sits outside 24/7. This is a non issue. You drive in snow or rain regardless of having a shaker or not you’ll have some amount of water making it’s way in the engine bay which literally hurts nothing.

Does the air filter then get clogged up more frequently from other debris that enter intake?
No. But if there is any "stuff" entering the air filter it is very easy to clean because of the open top above the filter housing when the hood is opened.

Yes it is but you aren't planning to add a supercharger are you? The 392 R/T is the same motor on all models of Challengers and Chargers.
No, no SC in my Scat's future.

Heat is the enemy🥵

Wouldn't it be better if it was in a sealed box to isolate it from engine heat?

If water leakage was that bad I am sure there would be lots of warranty claims.

I am new here and am looking for helpful information for the purchase consideration of a 2020 / 2021 Challenger R/T 5.7 L with manual transmission. I don't know if I want to get the shaker hood package or not. I like the look and it is more unique in looks of course. It kind of reminds me of my 1976 Pontiac Trans Am 455. It did not have an active air intake flap but it did make the car look special. I eventually changed carbs, added a 2" intake spacer and had a velocity stack air cleaner sticking up through the hole instead. Long time ago ...
... Anyway, do any of you have an opinion about the shaker hood ??
... I read a review that mentioned some overheating issues with city driving, or drive thru stops.
... If you have one, would you do it again?
... If you don't have one, do you wish you did?
Had a 2019 scat shaker in granite crystal auto. Drove in san antonio traffic daily, never had any over heating issues, ya the temp went up a little while sitting in traffic, but the fan kicked on and it was fine. I enjoyed the look, and the car. My scat ate oil toward the end (every 4k miles) of the oil life but never had an issue. Great car, aesthetically beautiful and the shaker on throttle does move which I enjoyed. Mine rode like a brick though lol. If you haven't test drove one do it first then decide!!

I have never heard of Challengers having anykind of heating problems. In fact the Challenger is known to be a comfortable riding freeway cruiser.

Yes and No. I enclosed the box then insulated it. I tested the 3 configurations (open top, enclosed top, box and top insulated) in exactly the same ambient temperature conditions with ECT at 185*. After idling for 4 minutes (approximately the time required to reach max. under hood heat saturating to IAT sensor) the enclosed box yielded 26* lower IAT. The insulated box yielded 40* lower IAT. When the car began moving both enclosed and insulated boxes maintained measurably lower IAT for approximately 1 minute after which the difference between open and closed or insulated was only 1 to 2*. Once the vehicle reach 45MPH or greater there was maybe 1* difference between the 3 configurations.

One interesting thing I have noticed is, the 50th Anniversary numbered models don't have any script on the shaker. Most of the others here either have 392 Hemi or Shaker on theirs.

why the shaker hood and the SMALL lcd screen M6?
ITS WHAT A MUSCLE CAR IS.....SHAKER MAKES IT TOTALLY UNIQUE its the only way i was going to purchase this car---no shaker no deal no dreams fulfilled no nothing. Mustang toooooooo small shaker makes it now magical.
flash back to the 1970 red w black accents cobra jet 428 a girl in college had (never gave me a ride) her's was manual
to me and i've had to wait 45-50years to get a muscle car had to flash me back to a day gone by.
nothing like it, the shaker to me makes this car--get tons of looks and compliments. its why i bought it
the manual (check my other posts) is amazingly easy to drive stop and go so much torque i do a 2-4-6 shift mostly.
S0000 why did i order it with the small screen? well the larger screen 8.4 upgrade stereo junked up the trunk where i couldn't get a spare. I just hate run flats and fix a flat is a mess d View attachment 1017337 oesn't always work--well a spare does (the other option is to buy a spare kit from say amazon and keep in trunk)
SHAKER MAKES IT SERIOUS.......
take a look at mine and take a look at hers. now that is magical

Absolutely stunning!

So I have a 2014 RT Classic, which I modified with a Cervini Shaker hood, and I have a whipple on it... zero issues. :)
