I have never drove a T/A, only a 392 Shaker package. I was always thinking the exhaust was far to quiet on the shaker I drove. I also assumed they were all the same.

I do want to by a T/A as I like the looks.

I was watching a unveiling video on the 2017 T/A and they mentioned as part of the package upgrades in the T/A was 2 3/4 inch electronic Cat Back exhaust. Is it really different and better than a 392 Shaker?

Thanks for the info!

I don't blame you a bit.

I felt the exact same way about the cars.

There is very little different in a Scat Pack with the Bremos and 9.5 inch wheels vs a 392 TA......so little all you really get with the 392 TA is that hood and some graphics and TA instead of an angry bee on your seats inside.

If you want the ULTIMATE VALUE.......pass on the TA.......go with the Scat Pack instead. You'll save a few bucks and get what is essentially the exact same performance car.

But how far you're willing to go for deep value is up to the buyer and his tastes.

For me the Scat Package is just "Plain Jane" vs the full on Retro of the TA so while it costs a little less to buy it never had real consideration for purchase. I didn't go the other way either. I thought about the Hell Cat sitting next the TA I bought in the show room too but something about that seriously RETRO contrast of black on yellow with a six speed just appealed to my sense of what this car should look like and what it should be far more so than the 700HP Hell Cat with the paddle shifted 8 speed auto and more modern looking octane Red paint To be fair to the Super Charged car, the octane Red is a KILLER look too but just not as "retro" or more specifically not what I was looking for in what was going to be MY CHALLENGER.

To be clear. There is no CORRECT or WRONG Choice here.

Each buyer has his or her own idea of what the car should be and look like.

My vision of the ICONIC ULTIMATE Challenger has always been the 340 TA.

It made my choice of the 392 TA my only choice possible. It had to be a standard shift too.

So when you say you "like the looks".......I get it!..... even if the guys who want to tell you, "it's just a scat pack with cosmetics" don't seem to.

Ha TA 392 YJ.

You and I am 100% aligned. The only car I would consider is the Yellow Jacket TA 392 with a 6 speed with every available option except the top end stereo. I honestly am not concerned about saving any money. It has to be that car or nothing. I am with you, I want the retro look. That yellow with black is just incredible with the sticker package.

If you want a louder exhaust, replacing mid mufflers with dynomax 24250 mini bullets will give you deeper tone, about 30-40% more sound and no drone. 2 Mufflers from Amazon for $44, + $93 for install. Much cheaper than an aftermarket exhaust.

When I got my TA, I was actually looking for a Shaker car. I wanted a 392 M6 with the alpine stereo a sunroof and preferred the larger 9.5" wheels. It was far easier to find what I wanted on the lot with the TA package than variations in the Scat. Similarly equipped there really isnt much difference price wise and IMO the TA pkg has a better CAI. Cant go wrong with either.

For 2019 not sure how many changes were made but it seems the R/T Scat was brought up to SRT spec with the 3 mode suspension available and the HC hood. Were it me Id go for whatever model has the 3 mode suspension . After having both I like it better
