I contacted Arrington/Shop Hemi for a price on Springs/Shims/Retainers/Seals to do a 6.4 cam swap into my 5.7. Two days later I received an email asking

"Thank you for contacting Shop Hemi. Were all of your questions answered?"

My response...
"No, None of my questions were answered. You are the only one to contact me"

Two more days later I received an email telling me a price for the spring/retainer kit.

I was discussing this at work (I work for an AMLS team) and our parts person informed me that he knew Joey Arrington and he would contact them to see if he could get a better price for me. He received the same "have your questions been answered" response....but no follow up at all...twice.

I then tried again to contact them with some questions I had. No response at all. So I tried a third time...again nothing.

This is very disturbing. I have read so many praises for Arrington, yet here is a complete lack of response. It makes me wonder what kind of response would I get if, after I ordered, there is problems with the product or shipping.

I already have the cam. Does anyone besides sell a kit to do the this swap? Or does anyone have a list of the part numbers for what is needed so I can go with someone besides Arrington?

Sounds familiar. Had basicly the same experiance. Took about 6 weeks to get a Cai and about a half dozen phone calls. Emails are worthless, they don't respond. You might get some results by calling the 1-800 number.

I have called up there three times this week and got a response each time. My experience was completely different than yours....the customer service was excellent! I also received a follow up email. On Friday I solidified a supercharger install/tune with a transmission valve body kit. I know they are very busy since tuning has become available for the 11+ models. They are three weeks out to get started on my project...I am looking forward to it!

I have had nothing but good experience with Arrington. I suggest calling them on the phone.

emailing any of the shops is a joke there usually boutique shops with a small group of guys that are good at what they do just not computer guys. their probably busy as can be and just not enough time. that's just speaking from my experience and working in the automotive industry at a small specialty shop like that. Arrington being as big as they are I would think would be different but anytime ive emailed any of them ive never received a response. Phone is the only way with them. good luck don't give up!

392GWE, I would agree with you if, and only if, they were a small shop in a town that did not have a website and/or email address. ANY shop posting their email information on the internet is looking for a wide customer base, which means some will use your provided email address.

My view, and that of my parts guy, is that I can email you a question or request and get back to doing another task. I do not have time to be on hold, waiting while I could be doing something else. Also I you (as a shop) will not be pulled from working on a project and can answer my question at a little better time.

A lack of response, or multiple days later response, tells me that you do not want my business. There are other places that will respond and do want the business.

It is 2013 brother, we are in a world where a large amount of business is done electronically.

I would agree with you for a small town shop, NOT one with a website and email address listed.

Anyway, I did not start this to slam Arrington, but to find out if others were having issues. Thanks to a third party forwarding this thread to a "higher up" at Arrington. They have started contacting me to try and straighten this out. I am not sure they can grow any confidence with me, but everyone deserves a chance.
