I know people tend to be a bit "passionate" about the subject due to what they currently own or what they are waiting to purchase, but I personally don't see that huge of a difference between the two based on outward appearances.

Yes, the hood scoops have a different shape to them, and some minor refreshes to the fascias...but honestly, the overall sheetmetal and shape of the car is identical. If the 2015 exterior refresh had come out first in 2008, with the 2008 coming this year, I have the feeling peoples reactions would be exactly the same "Why'd they change it, the hood looks worse now, etc. etc.".

Personally, I could take or leave the exterior updates. I like them just as well as I liked the previous...the changes aren't some radical departure from the overall form of the car.

To me, the updates that really shine are the interior. I liked the 08+ interiors until I saw the 2011 Charger Interior...and sitting in that, then sitting in the Challenger was a deal-killer for me on the Challenger until they updated it this year.

No sour grapes for me. I'd love to have a 2015!

The interior IS futuristic, but it's RETRO-futuristic, like the 1971 idea of a futuristic dash. Look at the tach and speedo - the font, and the big center boss on both of them. Nicely retro, but with all the warning lights incorporated into them.

I like the shorter bumpers front and back, and the kick-up int he rear fascia that alleviates the 'big arse' problem a bit.

The new standard hood is a bit better balanced than the old one, where the scoops look a little small.

The new grille and taillights? I like the older ones better, but then I've always liked the 1970 Challenger's look better than the 1971.

I'd REALLY like to have the 8 speed, over my 5 speed, mostly for the overdrive.

So, when I look at pictures, or read reviews online, I REALLY WANT a 2015. BUT, when I get in my 2014 and drive it, I don't want any other car.

Good thing, too - I couldn't afford a new one! It's only the deals they were giving on 2014s, with the 2015s coming in that put my R/T within reach!

still very happy with my 13 rt 6 speed.the plan is to have 40 to 50 thousand on it when the 2018s come out with the original brakes tires and plugs then decide new challenger or refurbish 2013

Front end - pre 2015 (with the exception of the hellcat - it's the best)
Tail lights - pre 2015
Standard scoop hood - pre 2015
Interior - 2015

I like the overall styling of the hellcat better than any other regardless of year.

I like the 2015 a lot. But I still like the 2009 too. Each has its unique differences. The bottom line is with either car, you can certainly tell it's a Challenger. Nothing else on the road is as unique (not including exotic cars).

Each has their ups and downs. The pre-'15's look better from the front, the 15 just barely wins in the rear. Interior the 15 looks nice but also IMO looks more cramped to me. The HC just has some extra "IT" factor that beats out both.

I will say I bot my new Challenger earlier than planned because after seeing a '15 in person I wanted the old body style.

they both look great but the 08-14 looks better in my subjective opinion.
The new hoods on both the 15 models do not look as good as current models.
the standard hood has the vents way to far forward IMO and I just don't care at all for the styling of the Hellcat Hood.
There is no right or wrong on this it's just a matter of preference

had a 2009 until recently and loved the design until the new version (Hellcat) was released. For me, I wanted to see some updates to the car. The interior was nice in the older 2008 - 2014 design but the 2015 version is WAY nicer IMO. Looks of a higher quality, old version was very cheap looking with tons of plastic. new steering wheel is killer...so is the new tech that goes along with the car...

Love the new taillights and based on the design, they will always line up. Every old version I've seen the taillights never lined up.

Redesign on the rear and front bumper looks cleaner to me and I prefer it.

Hood redesign is cleaner also with hidden windshield washers and the Hellcat and SRT version looking very Cuda retro which I like. Time for a change there...

Grill updates are very cool, actually prefer the non-hellcat version but I get why the Hellcat is thet way it is...

Wheel updates, especially the SRT and Hellcat are a huge improvement IMO...I know plenty of guys still favor the 5 spoke. In the retro and classic car world 5 spoke are SO SO over done...IMO

Dropped area below the headlights on the Hellcat are an awesome throwback to the Roadrunner...Cool design cue

So all in all I like the new design...Loved the old design but I think the new is nicer and fresh. If I could afford both I would have both....:)

The only thing i can add is the '14 just looks more raw to me. Whatever that means exactly, Im not sure lol. But, it looks right. :) Can't wait to get close to a 15 and check out the interior though

I actually like the look of the 2014 a little better. I really wanted to buy a 2014 Core with the Vapor rims. The U connect and 8 speed plus the value of the 2015 Scat Pack made me go that direction. With the customer loyalty coupon I just received I'm getting my 2015 with the exact options I want for under 40k. That seems like a great value that the 2014 couldn't compete with. I think they both look great there are just a few things about the 2015 I don't like though such as the wheel choices. I like the SPAG wheels and ordered that option package, but it's expensive for what you get.

I predict, (and please don't get mad or upset) but I think half the folks who publicly say they don't care for the 2015 will eventually come around and buy one eventually or a 2016 model with different color options. I too did not care for the 2015 Challengers until I sat in and drove one about. I have studied it's new features and now I know I must have one someday :)

I've always liked the '14 and earlier Challengers but once I heard there was going to be a refresh I got really interested. Test drove a '14 and '15 on the same day and long story short I ended up ordering a '15. That 8-speed is really nice and Dodge did a good job on the interior updates (for the most part)

Well, let's put it this way. I've owned two of the previous style Challengers and sold my last to get a 2015. Any questions?:SM127:

This sums things up perfectly for me. The OP asked which Challenger people think LOOKS better, I like the 2014 exterior a little better than the 2015, but I like the 2015 interior a lot more than the old interior. So overall, for looks inside and out I have a slight preference for the 2015 based on the interior.

P.S. The OP asked which Challenger LOOKS better, 2014 or 2015, so I skipped over the many powertrain improvements where 2015 has a huge advantage (8 speed automatic, active exhaust, the bump to power on the 392, and the new Scat Pack and Hellcat options).

Interesting question

It is interesting to see the diversity of opinion on the 2015 vs older models. I just bought a new 2014 last week and one of the key motivators for me was looking at the pictures of the 2015. That split front grille and the interior styling just didn't appeal to me at all. Unfortunately, the dealer didn't have a 2015 for me to compare with in person. Maybe I'll feel different later... but it was viewing the pictures of the 2015 online that brought me into the showroom to buy the 2014.

Pre-2015 looks much more appealing to me.

I prefer simple, bold forms in muscle car design. The newer interior is way too busy, as are many of the 2015 exterior details.

I am thinking this way. When I first saw the 2015 in person next to a 2014, I thought that the 2014 looked better. However, I will probably put in an order for a 2015 shortly. For the price of a SRT Core, I can get a better interior and updated features on the 2015 SP.

When I purchased my 2015 R/T there was a 2014 Orange Shaker in the showroom, so I had a lot of time to check it out and sit in one. It is a beautiful car, but I prefer the 2015. That being said, I would buy a 2014 in a heartbeat, so I don't understand some people who state they 'hate' or 'despise' the older model or the newer one. I mean it is still a Challenger with some cosmetic changes. How can you hate either one?

I was mulling over all summer between the Camaro Mustang or Challenger. I had planned to wait till next spring when I saw pics. of the 15 challenger I pulled the trigger on a 2014 sxt instead of waiting. I was not a fan of the tailights on the new 15's or the interior.
So I can say the 14 is my choice.
