Going to be ordering oem hood for my go mango scat and can’t decide between the 2. Most likely will be getting racing stripes so I have both pics with them. Let me know opinions

This, in spades.
The vents help the radiator a bit but also help reduce front end lift

The central scoop blows air right across the top of the supercharger lid, which has THE hottest air temperatures in the entire intake tract after the blower lobes, adding free aftercooling.

The first-gen hood is very functional and thus also beautiful.

I have been at 180mph and the hood showed no signs of lifting, even without one of those hood pin kits that are advisable for other models of hood ESPECIALLY THE DEMON. I watched the front edges for wag and lift carefully, and they seemed well-planted.

If I had it to do over, I would also throw on a tray spoiler under the stock tray with rods to support it to try to get front end lift to balance at zero, to better pair with the slight downforce of the rear end. This has been used in racing, the "running board" front spoiler lip, to very good effect. The spoiler on the Challenger trunk IS fully functional.

The first-generation Hellcat hood is the best American muscle car hood in history.

For some other model of Challenger? It will still reduce lift on the front, but the central scoop you may want to duct to it to the airbox if you want to use it for something.

I thought about the demon hood, but then, for myself, I thought it was a form of upbadging, so I went with the hood above. But again, it's a preference thing.
Upbadging, perhaps, until your car's hp at the wheels is over about 610...

I prefer the three vent hood as well

I actually like the cleaner look of the "SRT" hood, now on the SXT cars.

That's actually on the GT and R/T models. SXT still has the original "Power Bulge" hood, as in my signature picture ;)

Hi,

You're going to get lots of opinions, you're car, all depends upon your taste, both look nice, the newer dual scoop hood route will cost you more, hood cost, aprox 700-800 to paint.

I personally went with a Demon Hood as liked the look, but each their own

Good luck with the decision,
Jim

I prefer the single center scoop hood that the '15 - '18 SRT 392 or '17+ T/A use - the extractor vents don't really do much where in the 'Cat it was there to move heat out that a S/C engine setup created.

then I'd get the T/A CAI setup to make the scoop functional rather than putting dust and pollen all over the top of the engine

That was their claim but it was purely marketing. In 2019 they switched to the current hood. No cooling issues. Dodge loves to do this to create a little “function” hype. They also claimed the new hood added 10hp. But we noticed when the Super Stock came out it had 10 hp more than a Redeye but it had the same hood and engine. Later we found it was all marketing. They just measured hp at a 100 higher rpm.
I love the looks of the three vent hood but it does let more water through when washing. I’ve had both and now prefer the dual snorkel.

Both look good. It's what you like that is most important.

As for me, I wanted something different, so I went with a viper-style hood (7 vents). Click on the down arrow in my sig.line to see my car, but the angle is not good, so I included pics below from online of other challengers that have the same hood. Caution: my hood is carbon fiber, so it weighs less than 10 lbs. Since I put in a ProCharger (707hp), I followed the advice of the manufacturer and installed hood pins/lanyards. Even with 485 hp, I would recommend hood pins/lanyards.

This "down arrow" I have seen you mention before, this is a phone thing, or? I sure don't see it on a PC

I’d go with the three vent. Hellcat hood screams poser to me.

I really like the original hood that looks more like the one from the 70’s.

I was thinking about changing out my 21 Scat Pack to one of these but decided against it.
yep, that one or a shaker. Too bad the 1320 does not come with a shaker or that hood.

If you really wanted the effort a shaker hood would be cool but since you have 2 options I’d choose option B the 3 vent, it has more class and more functionality.

Just before ordering I was gonna buy a silver R/T they had at the dealer last year with that hood but wanted the shaker and it didn’t have the Harmon/Kardon sound system but the car was really nice with that hood.

Hi,

Just a FYI or reminder for any considering a oem Demon Hood you need a vin, proof of ownership for a dealership to order any of the parts needed, Hood, Scoop Bezel and Air Inlet Bezel, all of which is a slight pain to get.

Also one work around on the CAI is it is the same as the one in the Redeye with a dual scoop hood as the Demon specific one requires all the documentation bs

if your doing this on a Scat Pack you will need to modify the CAI slightly, reducing down to the throttle body and changing the arrangement between the filler and airbox.

Regards,
Jim

Upbadging, perhaps, until your car's hp at the wheels is over about 610...
I see what you're saying. I was at a bit of a crossroad with this, because my SP was 485hp, but with the ProCharger, it is at 707 hp. So, while I felt it was more than an SP, I still did not want anyone who knows hoods thinking my car was an HC or Demon. Personally, I just thought it would be misrepresenting, and disrespectful to those who have an HC or Demon. However, I definitely did not like the SP's OEM hood, so I went with an aftermarket viperstyle hood, and debadged the entire car (no Dodge, no Challenger, no R/T, no bees). Again, it's about preference, so there is no right or wrong here. What's right is the driver happy with their car. So, if anyone wants to get any hood, I say - got for it
