Does anyone know if a backup camera can be added to my 2012 challenger using the factory radio ?
It has the 6.5 inch touchscreen with gps nav. If yes what brand camera would you recommend ?
Thanks

Is an 'interface unit' required for this camera to connect to the 430 radio in my 2010 RT ? Looks to me like its NOT needed, but I'm new to this.

I have not really looked at the wire routing ............ how does one get the wiring

  • from the license plate light area into the trunk
  • from the trunk into the cabin
  • from the cabin to the dash

Thanks

The stock cameras arent that good IMO. I added a backup cam for my Ram a year ago that is in the tailgate latch (just bought a whole new latch) and it is a 720P cam and it is much more clear than the stock Camera on my Challenger. Not even close.

So, what are 2008-2014 owners using to unlock and add a camers to the 730n? I see that the Lockpick is discotinued, and I looked through Alfa OBD for an hour and couldnt find anything. I recently purchased a 2012 SRT8 with the Drop Top Customs convertible conversion, and the smaller rear window makes a back-up camera a must when I drive with the top up. I ran across Navtool but I havent found any reviews with this product other than someone else here that had a long delay in shipping.

I ended up ordering the Alpine iLX-W650 from Crutchfield, with the full install kit and the Sirius XM tuner. The 730N was a decent unit 11 years ago, but after owning a couple newer Scat Packs and my current Ram, I wanted something a bit more modern. This kit claims to retain the UConnect voice control and adds Android Auto/Apple Carplay. It seems like a decent upgrade for just a couple hundred more than a MyGig interface alone.
