From what I've read on this forum, it will have no effect on your performance. The computer will adjust accordingly and the car will run just fine. Of course you can do it yourself, but why? It's cheap enough: get it done at a shop. Might even ask them not to weld so you can replace everything when you sell. Many will not buy a Challenger with a modded exhaust, fearing that this means the car was raced or abused. But ya know what's interesting here? We spend all this money on 4 expensive components (mufflers and resonators), and then replace them with straight pipe...

I have this e haunt on my 13 Challenger R/T M6 car and I’m planning on doing this mod. It is very easily done with a 14mm socket and ratchet. It will make a world of difference in exhaust note for sure.

I would suggest to put the stock exhaust back on and replace those mufflers with straight pipes. Then sell the Corsa. No need to hack up a $1000+ exhaust. Even if you don't have the stock anymore you may be able to find someone willing to trade. You will have no difference in performance, you may see a increase in peak power actually. I dynoed my 2018 Scat Pack recently, and while not the same engine, I had peak numbers of ~460hp/~460ftlbs. Do odd drop offs in the dyno graph either, and the car feels the exact same way it did when it came from the factory after the straight pipes, which have been on since about ~500 miles on the car.

So true on the 4yr old thread. You have a point with going to a factory exhaust. More than likely I’ll wait to see how it sounds with the long tubes after next year.

Long tubes will probably get you the sound you're looking for.

 

Just noticed that this thread came back. So I did do it. I replaced the mid mufflers with pipe that was cut to the same length as the mufflers, so this just involved nuts and bolts for installation with no cutting to the Corsa. The mid mufflers have been standing safely in my garage in a corner, so I can sell the whole system someday with no issues if I want to.

I've very very pleased with the sound, deep and throaty, and it goes berzerk when you slam the gas. Best of all there is zero drone, which I attribute to the Corsa resonators. I couldn't be happier.

If I had any decent recording equipment, I'd post a video, but sadly I do not.

Now that I run long tube headers I put the mufflers back on.
