There is no description for the feeling that hits you when you walk to your car port one morning and see an empty space where your new Challenger should be (not more than 3 days new, even). Can my luck be that bad that it could be a new statistic on the stolen cars list? Luckily (as perverse as that sounds), it was the parking authority for the apt complex I live under who towed it (in the wee hours of the morning) because it was not yet registered in their system (not to mention they didn't even bother to leave a note that they took it or who to contact). After a trip to the impound yard and $200 later, I finally got my car back (don't even get me started at what a scummy practice this seems to be- city-endorsed car theft and ransom...wtf world do we live in now? If you are encounter a living place that endorses the services of CalPark Parking Management in Orange Co., better think twice before committing to live in that area. They are F-ing fascists looking for the quick shakedown, as opposed to really encouraging parking compliance.).

Aside from all'o'dat, I am wondering if they could have damaged anything while they essentially stole my car. I'm guessing (and deducing from the marks on the pavement) that they used some sort of hydraulic dolly/jack to lift the car along the rear axle hardpoint (the differential), wheel it out of the carport, and then couple to some sort of quick-tow rig?

For a Challenger, could that have damaged anything by jacking it there? Would the tow-truck operator distinguish that it should/should not be lifted there? What do you guys think I should have checked out or keep an eye on, pursuant to this incident?
I own tow trucks, and all modern tow trucks use some form of a wheel lift..so,as long as your car was headed into the parking space, and the car was lifted by the rear wheels,it should be fine..the only thing i'd ck for is front spoiler damage,as the car could of been lifted too high, and the angle too steep to clear the spoiler..
