I have a 15 challenger scat and recently had a p1sc procharger installed and email tuned thro HemiFever. I was having AFR issues with it being too lean but had no issues with cold start/warm start with prochargers fuel kit. I went and got FIC 775cc injectors and a returnless dual pump from Fore that ties into factory fuel lines, got the FC3 staged controller with it and Honeywell pressure switch. Along with an updated tune from hemifever. Cold start, the car will fire right up…..but once it warms up, it sounds like it’s starving for fuel and takes a few cranks to turn over…sometimes it won’t turn over. I checked for fuel leaks, there is none. I did a simple stop and go driving log for hemifever and he said everything looks fine. WOT it’s much richer now. It drives around fine and sometimes when I’m idling the car will vibrate and sound like it wants to cut off but it’s never died on me yet while idiling. Anyone know a solution to my hot start issue? Could it be the tune?! Ive been back and forth with them….he said there was something wrong with the fueling build that’s why I went and got bigger injectors/pump.

I’ve even let the pump prime for a few seconds than start….still has trouble turning over

bad ground from Engine? Bad/loose connection at Battery? Those are the first and easiest to start with. Then maybe a bad cam or crank sensor? When it won't start when it is hot, open the gas cap see if you get a "woosh" of vapor out, Vapor lock can cause it too. Start with that and the electrical connects as those are simple and free to fix yourself.

I’ve checked for loose connections/ground. Everything’s fine. Plus, wouldn’t that affect the cold start too? Prior to these new injectors/fuel pump….cold/hot start was fine, no issues. I emailed fore innovations, they said to check with my tuner. I checked for fuel leaks too, there is none. I’ll try the gas cap tho. Thanks

Yeah it’s always best to use the big name pro tuners

They know what each car needs

: )

Is HemiFever losing his touch?
I noticed a few posts across forums where folks weren't happy with his tunes..
No two cars are the same brother

Tuning is trial and error

Good data is KING

I mean assuming everything is right mechanically…

🤔

I’m not knocking hemifever but he couldn’t get it right….not every car is the same and I’m sure it’s a challenge to tune remotely. It took Johan 10 or so logs to get it right…..car runs great now and pulls hard. He communicates very well and he’s quick to getting back to you….great to work with.

I've got a 19 wb scat still stock for the most part. Took it to the dealer and they wanted $1100 to change spark plugs and 1 ignition coil so I did it myself and it's still there. Read somewhere it could be the starter and seeing someone say it here I think I'll give that a shot next. The issues started after taking a 6 hour road trip 2 months back and has been getting worse with time

Bad starter with a defective internal heat shield.
Yeah that's what I was thinking after reading up on some posts yesterday

Turned out to be the tuner…..cut my losses and went with Johan from diablotoona. He got it running good!!
Glad you it running how it supposed to. Figured ide ask in case is was something simple

The reason I suggested the starter is because mine had that issue. The proper way to diagnose it is to go to a shop with a top quality scan tool and the know-how to read fuel trims and so on. They can see within 15 minutes or so if there's any fueling or injector issues. Normally, an issue with the tune is going to be present in more places than just the startup sequence. But, if the car is running otherwise fine, but experiencing hot starting issues only when the car is hot... then that could be similar to what I had. When that starter motor gets too hot, it doesn't spit out enough torque to turn the engine over quick enough. This is what's called a delayed or hang start.

Still, that can also be caused by things as simple as a faulty gas cap or something in the EGR system that prevents proper fuel delivery. This would also show on a scanner, and usually generates a code to begin with.
