Ok guys and gals, Im fairly new to the modern hemi. We currently have an 09 rt with a vortech supercharger and auto trans tuned by Brent at dyno tune. I was at a dyno day yesterday with my pickup (successful day did 816 hp and 1365 tq and climbing at 3100 when we ran out of window). After the event we put the car on the rollers and managed 457 hp and 477 tq. Simulated 1/4 mile of 11.987.

My question is whats it going to take to make it to 700 hp and retain drivability? This is my wifes car and she drives it daily. Ive searched forging the 5.7, stroking to a 6.1 and 6.4. I just don't have any experience with these motors and Im searching for some help. Is it even possible with a v3?

Thanks for any help Joel

you are going to get a wide variety of whats and hows here.
My suggestion is take it to whoever is going to do the work and see what their recipe is.
There are more than a few ways to achieve what you are trying to do ,but one thing we would all agree on as an absolute is forged internals !
Good Luck with the build !

Yah I know, I was just hoping for some opinions on preferred methods. From what I have gathered forging, a built auto, and axles are a must if I want to use it. I guess I was hoping to gain are pros and cons to higher hp as cubic inches increase.

I know for fact, to get 757 rwhp 725 tq can be done with 438 inch motor and a 3.6lc Bell. Exactly what Buckwheat drumed at Southern Hot Rod. Known for accurate no fake numbers.
6.1 based motor, stock heads, stock fuel line, stock converter, and run 10:40s at 135mph
SHR Viking trans, 1400hp axels, frame tied, duel fuel pumps and big injectors.14lbs boost.
The cam profile is his own flavor. He won't give out the cam card or numbers.
Cut by Cam Motion.
There's more to come, its in testing mode right now, more timing, race fuel and tune.
FlatTop

Put a forged 6.1L block, appropriate blower cam and heads, a 2.8L KB running 10-15lbs of boost, properly sized torque convertor, flex plate and a SHR or Paramont high torque capaicity transmission and that should get you in the neighborhood of 700 hp. You might also want to get a return style fuel system just to be sure you don't run out of fuel. I'm assuming 700 RWHP. You need to talk to a vendor about the cam as it has a big impact on driveability. I have a PWR 228X cam in my car. There is a lope and the car rocks slightly at idle. My son's car has a PWR's 232X blower cam and is more lopey and rocks a little more than mine. He had problems with idling that eventually got fixed in the tune with AJ from Arrington's help.
