u140e-00 code solved

Hey guys I had been struggling with this for a while and Matt Glad @ Arrington knew the fix.

U140E = implausible vehicle data received.... This code illuminates the abs and traction control light. The code disables cruise control and won't allow you to interact with the traction control system via the car or the diablo.

Long story short; whenever the Calid of the PCM is changed, the PCM's configuration must be set as well. The abs module does not get plausible information from the pcm so it has a fit.

This was my fix. I searched and searched for answers and persistence paid off. Hopefully this fix will help someone in the future.

Oh, its probably important to add the car is a 2012 R/T sp.

I know this is ancient history, but I'm confused as to what the fix is. Did you have to have the PCM reflashed? Did the dealer have to do it? Also have a 2012 R/T.

BlackCuda Last seen Jun 11, 2016 . Might try sending him a PM, perhaps his settings are set to email if he receives a PM. Although with the format change, I doubt it

I found it. In hp tuners I changed the the engine size under the general info from my old 6.4 to the new HC 6.2 and that caused the error. Hp tuners even has a flag at the bottom that says “changing from original engine size will disable to tc and abs. Changed it back to 6.4 and reflashed and all good
Thanks !!!

BTW, CALID is the Calibration ID, or Calibration Number

ChallyTatum may be able to add more info?

Please tell me someone can get me straight with this and how I can fix it. It’s got a custom tune pro charger and staggered tires and abs light traction control light no hill assist and no cruise control. I just want it fixed finally took it to dodge and hoping they can get it right.

I have a custom tune for pro charger in my 5.7 and I don’t have abs traction control hill assist or cruise control and no one can figure it out. Just took it to dodge they are saying could be a 7-10 day turn around.

So I know this started off as old thread but to have a VIN mismatch usually means the PCM might have been programmed with a different VIN (can't be done with any tuners like diablo or HP tuners...at least on +2015 models) or the BCM was reprogrammed with a different VIN (software like AlfaOBD might be able to do this). Could also be a bent pin at the PCM connection...seen folks having weird codes pop up with that one.

Another thing to add is it might be the old software version of HP tuners or their bypass cable (if that is the interface and bypass being used) that does not reinitialize the ABS module properly. Some jeep guys had this issue when changing tire/gear size via HP tuners using their bypass module.

did just start my own post and found this thread here: I got my 2018 Challenger also tuned with a VVT camshaft etc and now I get the error codes U0100, U140E and C2202 like posted above. The engine justs stops when in N or P after some seconds and the torque-meter in my dashboard shows 1300nM while the engine is not running. The engine then wont start again till I disconnect the battery for some minutes. Driving or going reverse is no problem. Any abs lights or engine lights dont light up. Can anyone help?

from reading past replies this only seems to happen to remapped engines, i know you have a camshaft but try putting the original tune back on it and then putting the new one on again

When I had Arrington tuning my manual RT (apparently used Petty's Garage for email tuning at the time) they sent me a baseline tune that was setup for an automatic as the P/N RPM table was set to 3000rpm (IIRC). Would be nice if these tuners are using HP tuners so one can compare stock and modified tune to see what changes were implemented. Would also be nice if folks reported back on whether they resolved their problem or not.

Seems like the engine runs sometimes in N and P and sometimes doesn't. I recorded a clip directly after starting the cold engine and it did run fine. Today the same behaviour before driving, after coming back home and switching to P before turning the engine off, the engine stopped running and again showing 1200nM @ torquemeter.

so, after talking to a german Dodge-technician we got the idea that my problem occurs in combination of my AlfaOBD-settings (I made a long time ago) and maybe the settings that were applied to the pcm by the tuner. Unfortunately, I don't have my old backup from alfaOBD anymore. I already tried to revert the settings I made, but still no luck.

Can anyone provide me an OEM alfaobd-file for my Challenger or knows where to get one?

although I don't think that is your issue

at the moment I am willing to try almost everything to get rid of that malfuction

can I use your 2015 Challenger with a newer Challenger? Just upload the file and that's it? At least model year and some of the equipped parts can be different.

+2018 have a different config layout and the logs are not files you upload but instead are text versions of the configuration that you compare using software like winmerge to identify changes. You then need to determine if the change is appropriate for your model. What changes have you made to your BCM...fog lights, chassis type...etc.?

I just wanted to have the performance pages and was testing some values.
Changes were made for:
Vehicle is SRT
Special Package 1&2
Performance Pages present
Global windows down
STP

All of the above was changed back to default yesterday, except PP and Global windows down. The vehicle still stops the engine when in N or P.

I monitored the CAN bus for torque and saw values above 5000nM when in N, then those were falling down, going back up over 5000nM and then the engine shuts down.

With an almost 20 year old, high mileage vehicle like that it is highly likely the ABS module has failed. The C2100 happens when the ABS detects the system voltage is below 7.5V. If the battery was bad then other modules would have flagged low voltage. The C2202 is usually an indication that the ABS has lost the VIN due to power loss.

You can go here and type in the codes to follow diagnostic steps.

I think the P0300 is unrelated to the ABS and could be a host of other causes.
